It’s not the trip, it’s the ground he was on about, it was a lightning quick ground for jump times."Journeys to Glory, breathing in his head".

Now obvs Saint Roi did it in a canter so making no comparisons but i would say that Mare has easily ran to mid 130s poss high 130s and thou Mullins might well have better throughout the season if you can run to 140 that's usually good enough for a mares novice so it's a good performance in a true run race. Was impressed with her jumping too very efficient. As he mentioned thou as the ground worsens the questions mark will arise but so far you can't help but be impressed despite her showing her hand early.

Looking back at previous WKD hurdles, i think i'm right in saying Saint Roi would get 5lbs from Abacadabras
OR 151 while Aba's is 158.
Hopefully they meet on the Friday, but wouldn't be shocked to see one of them reorganise their plans

One small niggle I have about Saint Roi is that he's not very big. Because he was campaigned in an unusual manner, the biggest burden that he's won under is 11st 2lb and I wonder if an extra 8lb, possibly on soft ground, will affect him more than some. In my mind, probably not but it's a consideration when he graduates to G1s.

He hasn't really been in a battle yet either (hasn't needed to) but unless he's a level above, it's something I'd want to see - against Abacadabras would be a great way to test that as well - so fingers crossed for a nice early season clash.
