        We'll see.
I dont know really what to think, should he be winning that today if hes to win a champ hurdle? Id say so personally..well personally i think he shouldnt even be having a flat campaign! If thats your bag then wait and be the bollocks at it..f**k the flat

        • Well the best you can say about that is that he’s probably over rated at 88 on the flat.

Again knew his fate from halfway; the Goshen of last year, in his flat races or over timber, set strong fractions and increased the tempo from halfway. In this he got to the front but either took a pull or simply couldn’t go on.

Best case he needed the run and connections will kiss away their silly fanciful ambitions on the flat.

Worst case he’s more tractable, lost his edge and now runs like most of the horses from the Moore yard.

Either way that was disappointing. I wouldn’t back the horse at 16/1 based on that yet alone 6/1.

          • Makes the champions day entry look optimistic.

            • Slight overreaction on here. Ran too free and looked like he needed the run. That race has zero impact on his chances in the Champion Hurdle.

              • Have bookies cut Eptante?

                • Wasn’t the whole point of running him on the flat to pick up some easy prize money and make the most of his flat mark. I know it’s his first race of the season, but come on they couldn’t even get that right and win what was suppose to be a relatively easy race. He didn’t just get beat by a length, he came last when odds on at 1/3. The Moore’s training and campaigning would be enough to put me off.

                  • Epatante into 7/2 with B365. Hills still 9/2. That won't last the day
Abacadabras shortened into 11/2 with Hills. Think he must be there current biggest loser in the race

He ran poorly but I wouldn't be writing him off on the back of it, that's all I'm saying.

                      • Thought it was a satisfactory run by Goshen , he looked big in paddock ran like he was unfit and thats about it.

Long way to March to write him off just yet , bookies have liabilities so wont be pushed out a lot.

                        • Thought he was a horrible price, and I still think he is. Should be double figures

Wouldn’t surprise me the yard will screw up his season, which would have been difficult anyway running in open company, and the horse ends up being another over rated juvenile that.... just fades away

Apologies for the negativity but, I just don’t fancy this horse at all

                          • Does todays result and showing put an end to Goshen's flat campaign? (I don't follow the flat so a genuine question)
If so I guess that is the only positive after todays run?

Who do we see, ir anyone serving it up to Epatante in the Fighting Fifth and Kempton trials?

Of the open company 2 mile hurdlers:

Silver Streak (fared the best against Epatante but 5 and 12L beatings showed her superiority)
                            Ballyandy
                            Pentland Hills
                            Call Me Lord
                            Not So Sleepy
                            Cornerstone Lad
                            Buveur D'Air

Hard to find too many horses in the UK coming into the division:

                            Goshen
                            Allmankind
                            Allart?
                            Edwardstone?
                            Maries Rock?

On the basis Henderson avoids her with Buveur D'Air (International then Contenders Hurdle?) which is almost certain that he'll tread very carefully with him, if Goshen isn't the star some predicted she could be incredibly short come March?

The race will need the Irish to look strong (who I think will in Abacadabras, Saint Roi, Saldier, Sharjah) to keep her price odds against?

                            • Genuine question.... Which grade 1 horse has Gary Moore ruined in the past with an awful campaign?

The horse might not be good enough but I don't see the trainer as being the problem.

                                Exactly this!

Also agree on your further comment about this today having no bearing on his Champion Hurdle tilt
