I took the 25's CC as soon as she had pulled up in the Arkle but have backed her TWAR 16/1 and down to 12/1 ever since. 20/1 Champion Chase is the stand out bet along with Politolouge in that race but the 12's TWAR is the safer option. The Ryanair can't be ruled out.

I asked for Chosen Mate to be added to TWAR last night.

WH priced him up at 20/1 and PP 8/1.

WH probably looking more at Graded races, he is generally priced up at 25's (a couple price bigger than that) with that price-up.

If he ended up in a handicap (a few lbs lower in the weights than his current mark) then he wouldnt be 20/1.

....given its a best price 25-1 for the Champion Bumper and folk thinking it could go straight over hurdles, the 22-1 a/r (boosted) with Hills for Sir Gerhard looks reasonable.

Think it was just a few people’s thoughts, mine included Billymag.

He would have surely had a bumper run or 2 in the spring just gone, if he was to have a bumper season this year would mean 7 going over hurdles.

I think with the fee they paid which in the long term is to jump fences, they may possibly give him a bumper run first run back and then send him over obstacles.

Could be way off with that as there are occasions of horses being 7 going over hurdles.

I don't think he'll go over hurdles either..... however for the sake of 3 pts, if you can get 22/1 it's probably the percentage call I suppose.

IMO he may start in a bumper but if he gets there next March it would be as a hurdler

Gordon has previous for 1 run in a bumper then onto novice hurdles. Battleoverdoyen went this route before going off fav in the ballymore, the rest is history.

It'll be a small and inconclusive sample no matter what the result but my guess before looking is that it's be a really small percentage that have done it.

Happy for the facts to prove my theory wrong but I'm not checking it myself tonight

Losing the last 6 weeks of last season may make this sort of stat less reliable in the short term. When they finally announce the autumn programme it will be interesting to see if there are extra bumpers as an option for horses that might have had extra experience in the lost 6 weeks prior to moving on to hurdling.
