I think we need to take into account what we have learnt re these good Mares......chasing is the least likely route as connections want to cover them in cotton wool. Honey's connections have bottled it, Benie has bottled it and I doubt Laurina will be any different. Boring I know but sadly true. Hurdles all the way
I’m inclined to agree with you here. The major difference between Bennie honey and laurina is laurina is the the only horse not to have won a grade 1. I wonder if that had any sway in her move to Paul Nichols? She’d have more chance of winning a grade 1 over here than over in Ireland. The fighting fifth this year for example was a very winnable race. Conversely, with the Clarence house chase being so close to Cheltenham that too would be more winnable than any grade one chase in Ireland.
There has to be a chance that Cheltenham will only be an after thought.
I might be one of the very few people who have nibbled at her EW at 33/1 on bet365. Season before last she was always talked up as a chaser in the making and a nice big mare, in my opinion Paul will keep her over fences. Just can’t see her going back over hurdles be that handicap or to take on honey and Benie. It’s a huge leap of faith to ignore last seasons problems, which Is my thinking on this one and rolling back to her mares novice hurdle and champion hurdle days. If Paul gets her jumping and back to winning a race the price will tumble. I can see it being a case of how did we miss that price and one that would annoy me if I didn’t take the chance. If I’m wrong and she goes a different route or has issues again then I just cash out, I won’t be losing much with her odds already being so high.
With the potential of honey, Benie and Put the kettle on ignoring the race it’s not hard to imagine her winning or at least placing.
It’s a Shot next to nothing I’m willing to punt on
You probably are now, yeah, I backed her early doors for it at 33's, then cashed out the other day with the news she'd gone to Paul, but now thinking I was a little hasty, that said it's still available so can go back in if need be still
Now that Honey is not going Mares Chase I've gone in again on PTKO at 12/1 TWAR with Paddies. She's 8/1 with them to win the Mares Chase. Doh !!?? Without Honey/Benie she'd surely be favourite if she went that route which must be tempting.

Surely the champion chase will be at the forefront of their minds?!
Twice won at Cheltenham including this years Arkle. Be madness to not go for the champion chase with all the if and buts about the horses at the top of the market imo.
