Ofcourse he could go supreme even alongside annamix. Iv smashed him this morning for the ballymore at 25s ew with cashback. But iv a win only bet for the supreme that I won't be cashing anytime soon. More likely ballymore though. Ruby thinks 2 1/2 is his trip. Mullins said it could be 2 miles in the rp tour. But on his race preview today he indicates this is his trip.

    • Tornado Flyer is very interesting for this, i would guess this might be his probable destination- but i might put a little on him for the Supreme as well...taking a chance he won't be a 3miler.

One that caught my eye and probably most peoples yesterday was I Can't Explain for Nicky. cut to 25s for the Supreme, interesting to read Hendo thinks he needs further on better ground...Most books have left him untouched for this and at 33s i'll have a go i reckon.

I was 'worried' enough to back him for the same stake in both.

I think he'll be Ballymore but not put too much thought into it just yet as I'll see how he shapes today.

I expect him to win today and shorten for both, so will see how to play it later.

If beaten today I expect I'd cash out for a small loss (depending on the circumstances etc)

        • I’ve toped up 1U e/w with a tornado Flyer at 25s, to go along with my 14s any race

Money has really come for him today, i got him at evens last night and expecting a big run

Edit: I see there’s a NR now which helps the price fall but still expecting a facile victory

          • Jumps a little to the left.

This trip looked more likely than a drop back... I'd say.

              • I’d expect the AB to be more of a risk than the Supreme but in a grade 1 they will go a good bit faster early on than that which should suit him, not sure he wants a full 3m yet

Wouldn't agree with that. Very unlikely Albert bartlett, He's plenty of toe. He just relaxed beautifully.

                  • Don't think he jumps quick enough for the supreme. Ruby looked confident the whole way round but I wasn't blown away.

                    • Tornado Flyer was very good today.
Pretty sure that Willie's got better though.
Not one for me at this stage.

I think blackbow could be. But No guarantee he would join tornado flyer here though.

                        Anyone else in particular?

                        • Not really, If I had to rank the bumper horses from last year, and the better ones get over bet anyway IMO.
I personally liked carefully selected the most, but blackbow and tornado could prove to be the better of course.

In my mind It's more often the case that horses down the field in the bumper do better the following season as a lot of trainers aren't training them for the champion bumper and are more interested in hurdlers and chasers in the long term.

PP have gone 10/1 Ballymore and 12/1 Supreme

                            • Tornado Flyer (4/9f) makes the perfect start over hurdles, as he takes the second at Punchestown under Ruby Walsh for Willie Mullins (3rd winner today). Mullins said: "Ruby said he was very keen. We'll look at Christmas and well look at the race (Grade 1) at Naas in January."

*"We think he's a really nice horse," Ruby Walsh

Of all WP Mullins Champion Bumper Placed horse's and Punchestown Champion Bumper placed horses I can remember.
Only Champagne Fever has gone on to win a Novice hurdle the following season at cheltenham
                                Unless I've forgotten any ?
In fact I can only think of Al Ferof and Nicanor of any horses (trainer by anyone) placed in the two championship bumpers to go and win a novice the year after.
going back about 15 years or so is as far as my memory allows
