Crowdfunder - Fat Jockey Forum upgrade

Hello Fat Jockeys,

Upgrading the Fat Jockey forum!: https://www.crowdfunder.co.uk/p/fatjockeyforum

We're looking to upgrade the 'hosting CPU' so I've set up a crowdfunding project.

I would love it if you could donate using the link below to access my project page. Any contribution large or small will be hugely appreciated. Thank you.

We don't get much off them and I agree it should be a no anyway, but good to see some being a bit more generous for a change.

Bit of self-promotion won't do them any harm. "look how kind we are"... if they can afford to pay out, it means they don't lose as much as they'll make back.

Haha this is very true! They know the game, the score and usually the end result!

That's pretty much what the chap said on the Live Chat!
We do know the risks, but if some bookies are doing it - it doesn't hurt to ask the others...

            • Skybet have this up on their site:
All bets placed on Thistlecrack after 5pm on 19th Jan will be refunded as per our Non-Runner No Bet offer. Bets before this date will be settled under antepost rules. More info about Antepost rules click here

Couldn't agree more. One of my hates is punters asking for refunds. Everyone knows the risks so why expect a refund. Then punters complain ante post betting is dead - this is part of the reason!

Add another +1 to these shouts.

If bookies followed the rules on antepost without these little publicity stunts and kept it how it should in that the punter loses their money then we may say bigger prices early on/throughout the season. No wonder prices are shorter year on year if the risk of them turning up is no longer applicable.

For those of you who were on this special. I just spoke with online chat and they have said that the bet "will be settled at an enhanced price on the remaining selections dependent on the SP come race time"

I thought it was dead so still something.

Just did the same thing before reading this. I asked further about the enhanced odds and got this in reply:

Originally it will settle on the price of the horses to place at the start of the races. Then as it was a price boost they will push it up a point

                        • I have bet DDS for the Triumph. It's thought he may need a bit of cut in and as such I've read they may want to go the Supreme if there is a dry run up to the Festival (on account of how the course is watered).
Went to cover my bet but saw the NRNB odds were fairly meagre.
Surely if DDS went to Supreme, then CP would go Triumph?
Just backed that double with BF @ 285/1.
That seems a massive price for those two horses with just a switch of target?

                          • I agree Brital. Worth 0.25 points EW in case this weekend makes CP look worst than DDS?

I think it is extremely unlikely, but at 285/1 I can see why you'd have a go!

Hobbs was a guest on last night's On The Line. Despite rubbish from Chapman about going for the Champion Hurdle, you got the impression that the trainer would be very, very surprised if the horse was re-routed from the Triumph. At no stage have I ever heard him suggest he was going anywhere but the Triumph.
