2026 Novice Chasers

I am backing Kopeck De Mee, i was being a little mischievous 😄 just because of the 'could be anything' factor and it's JP. No interest in BDA but Kargese would become of interest if going chasing.

….Kopeck de Mee was one I took a flyer on in March at 50-1 (56-1 boosted). He’s a bit of a ‘forum horse’, maybe I’d had too much rum but at least it looks like he’s going chasing.

I’m increasingly enamoured with the mighty Romeo . Gone in again for arkle.

8/1 only available to me. Still think it’s ok

Just catching up on this thread after Romeo won yesterday

Are we not worried that Gordon specifically said in the interview post race that 2m4 is his trip?

Possibly, but if he goes to Cheltenham in March, arkle is most likely target. He did also suggest that last season for his hurdles

Drinmore then onto the Ladbrokes Novice at the DRF I reckon myself. Think they might skip Cheltenham with him and aim for Aintree with a fresh horse to try bag a g1 there.

If i was gordon id go to the irish arkle after the drinmore just to roll the dice. Or even give 3 miles a go somewhere.

He wins or goes close you go to cheltenham. He loses go to aintree or fairyhouse.

For anyone that’s not heard the 2m 1f Novice Chase has been reinstated to Leopardstown’s Christmas Meeting

Nice chase debut there from The Jukebox Kid there, might be worth keeping tabs on him going forward, good attitude, jumps very well, got in close a couple of times yet still landed running & barely touched a twig, could go up in trip as well, think the race will produce a few winners in time.

….from the stable tour;

‘He is a nice individual who goes well at home but wouldn’t be the quickest thing on four legs but does have a lot of ability. He will be aimed at some novices’ handicap chases over three miles and then will probably end up, if he is good enough, in some decent races at the end of the season.’

He looked good enough the other day, but I’m just not sure he’s quite got the pace for an arkle…..where’s the 2m4 G1 when you need it….would be all over him for that!

Be afraid, be very afraid…….’The Beast from the North’ will devour those Aintree fences, making them look like hurdles…..

Expect them’s bookmakers to cut the price further when they see what a Monster he is in the flesh, especially when comparing him against the others horses that look like ponies…..

And when he romps to a facile win expect further cuts in price for the best chance, this side of the Irish Sea, we have on winning the 2026 BANC and more importantly the 2027 GC!

Come the D Paddy !🤩
