The Manifesto Novices Chase Stats was added to the race program in 2009 and is run over 2m4f on the opening Thursday of the Aintree Grand National meeting. It has Grade 1 status.
The race remembers Manifesto a horse which ran a record 8 times in the Grand National between 1895 and 1904. He won the race twice, finished third on three occasions and was fourth once. It seems a shame that Manifesto’s races pre-date the each way bet which we have read elsewhere was invented by Joe Coral !
