‘Win Today & Cheltenham 2023’

Delta Work to finish in first 5 in national and win xc 11/1. If you fancy DW to go close in that national that seems like a good opportunity to get him onside for the xc

Hair cut this morning! 7s now

These are awful awful prices this year from sky aren't they

Epatante is 14/1 just for the mares in several places

That would surely need to be 25s for anyone to even be slightly tempted

Atrocious prices.
My issue with any Epatante Mares Hurdle bet is that she’s had 13 NH runs, if she was a 20f horse would she not have been tried beyond 2m before now ?
She’ll be 9 next festival and that breeding shed will be calling at some point, as a Champion hurdle winner are connections likely to be excited about a Mares Hurdle as a long term target ?
As it stands I’d say she heads to the Champion Hurdle and if they don’t think she can compete she’ll be retired…

Suppose their thinking may be that next season is the first time they know for sure she can’t win a Champion Hurdle. Been beaten soundly twice by Honeysuckle & the yard look to have a better contender in Constitution Hill. So give it a go & no harm if she doesn’t get the trip.

I'm holding off any Epatante - Mares Hurdle bets because Nicky said (I think after her run at Xmas) that it might be worth trying 2m 4f but Nico said she won't stay that far. Guess we'll find out soon enough.

He probably meant wouldn't stay 2 1/2 around Cheltenham. Every chance on a tight , flat track like Aintree.

archie made the valid point a few days ago that every season racing is one less foal, I'm only guessing but I can't see the interest in staying in training to target a sub standard race when she's been a Champion Hurdle winner.
Put The Kettle On couldn't defend her Champion Chase crown and was retired at 8, Honeysuckle having one more season then off the breeding shed at 9...

Does JP breed his mares? Ive no idea, but thought he was in it purely for the racing.

He does, but it's still a business and assume she can be sold to a breeding operation for a tidy sum...

Agree Ista. Think this will be her last season. Perhaps last race if she were to win. She has been an exceptional Mare and will make a very lucrative broodmare.

I know it gets asked quite a bit, but where are these? I can’t locate them this morning. Thanks
