Weather Watch 2026

XC must be touch and go you'd think. Heavy ground seems inevitable now, hopefully not the end of the World today but could mean tacky ground later in the week :hopelessness:

Looks like today's rain will pass through by around 11am and there's only a couple of light showers forecast for the rest of the week, so although the first couple of days will be testing, it hopefully won't be a quagmire all week.

In the bin still I think because he wasn't declared, any that made declarations would be void rather than lost if it's abandoned. Think that's right anyway.

I know was only joking. I see they would likely move the race to the Friday anyway.
 
At least we'll see the Cross Country whatever day it's on.

Not much rain this last 3-4 days but due to what it's had over the winter, it didn't need much to turn it.

it was just the 16/1 heavy & 7/4 as soft which was an absolute no brainer not to invest in.

All of last week I just couldn’t fathom how on earth good to soft was sitting at 1/2, 8/15……unfathomable I thought.

I’ve never looked at this market (nor bet it in my entire life), but with these odds, betting on both soft and heavy (with heavy stakes, not soft ones) I decided to ‘get in & get out’ for the first time, and hopefully the last time.

As someone commented, it’s degenerate to watch grass.

Guilty, as charged.

Going Stick is 3.7 both courses supposedly. Desperate, desperate ground tomorrow. Hopefully they'll get through it OK today while they churn it up.

He can call it what he likes but a going stick reading of 3.7 an hour ago makes it Heavy, Very Heavy.

Whilst there is a break in the rain coming soon, there is rain forecast through the afternoon and evening. It’ll be awful ground tomorrow.
 
The geezer was watering it last week what a plank hes got form for this aswell now
 
There's always a bright side, races might not be as easy on the eye but the ground has been pretty much soft/heavy all season, so the form may actually hold up a lot better than if we were suddenly on good to soft and you had certain horses improving a chunk outta nowhere.
