The Sam Spinner one would interest me, he is the forgotten novice chaser from last year showing plenty of promise, it’s a hot year for open staying chasers but we would all have backed worse 200/1 shots...

My issue with SS is that he was losing half a length at most fences last season. In that company, he had the class to make up the lost ground and still win but in proper Grade 1 races, he wouldn’t be able to afford that lost ground. He’d have to have improve his jumping before I could fancy him at all for a Gold Cup, even as a lively outsider.

I don't particularly like Vindication for the GC but I do think he'll win tomorrow. The 80/1 isn't quite tempting enough for me though.

Cheers for that Eggs. They're all fairly....crap? Maybe Delta Work could entice me as I was very keen on him last year. But my rule for the Gold Cup is to focus on second season chasers so

Just the 3 average novice chases MoM, never given the chance to compete in top grade chases as seaaon was cut short by injury but plenty of time to improve.
Also, plenty have questioned his jumping, that error he made at Donny last year it’s worth watching how he jumped subsequent fences after that...
