The ULTIMA Handicap Chase

i looked at the Channon horse ..may go for the Kim Muir but has a nice profile for this ..will wait for the six places b4 i go in again as i fear given how he can travel ..i will need them

Lietenant Rocco looking more liekly to come here... from SportlingLife

"Mitchell said: “We’re leaning towards the Ultima, but he’s going to be confirmed for that and the Brown Advisory. We’ll be taking him out of the Marsh.

“It will depend on the weather, as much as anything – that goes for any sort of participation at Cheltenham, to be honest. There’s rain forecast every day until next Tuesday, so we’ll just have to see what comes. For him, the more the better really."

Thanks :encouragement:

Oddschecker still not sorted out the Remastered column three weeks later.
If it wins this, people will wonder where it's come from :highly_amused:

Happygolucky was taken out
of the NH Chase.

Had some fun with that earlier :dejection:

With the ‘supposed’ drying conditions and better ground I think my namesake ‘Pym’ could fly under the radar in the Ultima. He’s not the biggest of horses so being near the top of the handicap is not ideal but he’s a good jumper and travels well. He has a grand National entry so connections must think he’s capable and so do I. Added 20/1. I think he may run really well on good to soft and he has course and distance form at Cheltenham

Ive got on the pyms's here also. Accidently spread it a bit wide because I kept forgetting to click e/w. I think a very high class horse- was considering the RSA alot last year.

The main concern with him is he is notoriously better in small fields. His jumping in particular seems to suffer in bigger fields.

I think he struggled in the heavy/soft going last season and didn’t show his talent. He did well finishing 5th (never troubling horses involved in finish though) at Newcastle LTO and has been kept fresh since. I think Nico will keep him out the way and try and finish strongly using his pace but on better ground he may massively out run his odds. He has a bit of class and can win races. I’ve just talked myself into topping up on the mighty Pym again!!

the drier ground will be a plus no doubt. I wish you luck

Must admit I've been sorely temped by Pym myself. He mentioned a hurdles run rather than the Ultima last I heard though?

Betting strongly suggest Escaria Ten will not run here and more likely in NH chase.
