The Melling Chase

Mega.

The plan for Altior is the JLT Melling Chase and we still have the option of Sandown. Aintree would be the perfect place to step him up to two and a half miles for the first time and I am rather looking forward to it and would like to step him up. He has put up two copybook performances in both his starts this season and let’s hope he can continue doing that.

He is going to absolutely hack up.

I couldn't resist the 2/1 and I'll be tempted to go on the Friday if he turns up.

The Mildmay course is Good to soft, soft in places which would be perfect.

I couldn't either. Was texting everyone I know (that'd be interested!)

The ante post risk of him not turning up is not factored in to that price, considering it is the target.

WIll be my biggest "single" of the season without a doubt.

5U on at 2/1

If it holds a little longer I’ve a decent chunk of money I’m
Owed being repaid the day before this race and I’ll be going in again on anything over evens

Made a big case in the CC thread that I think he will be better over 2.5 and I plan on putting my money where my mouth is

Smashed - best priced Evens. Thanks for flagging FM managed 2.5 points at 2/1. Would have had more but couldn't understand why the price hadn't been cut anywhere, despite the Henderson info coming out early eve. Is is because the bookies risk team don't work evenings?

I had a decent bet but also had a feeling that the price was too good to be true so didn't make it a max bet. He's surely a 1/2 shot at best if he turns up.

What time does the Hendo unibet blog come out?

Some cracking entries for Thursday.

Burning Ambition taken out of Foxhunters and some firms allow to react if you want the bigger prices on others

I have a feeling we may have done our money on Altior:sorrow:

Looks that way :highly_amused:

Part of me expected it... knew the risk ... but its quite staggering the conflict in statements within 24 hours?

Maybe Hendo wants him to go back out to 2/1!

10pts on the 2/1 for myself as well. Very annoying. No correlation between the 2 pieces...makes you question if the ATR piece had any substance to it whatsoever and wasn't just fabricated from nothing?

But yes, can't really complain. The price was there purely on the assumption he wasn't going to run, so it was always a risk.

Even putting my bet aside though, I would have been much more interested to see him run here rather than Sandown so it's a big shame

Surprised with the Altior punt bearing in mind he only had an entry for Punchestown??
Just an observation.

I don't think Nicky intends to send him to Punch. It's either Aintree or Sandown but sounds like Sandown much more likely.

I'd love a rematch

If you could call it a match :p

Altior would win if he ran. But would be long odds on that he dosent go here.

Diddnt know this thread was here but min at 12/1 yesterday is my only bet of the Aintree meeting. Into 7/2 now and mullins only entry. Risks attached obviously but followed pp in when they cut from 12/1 to 4/1 for this and pushed all the other mullins runners out markedly. Which was justified at confirmations today.

The atr stable tour already contradicted itself with the lami serge part of the tour. Which made it look unlikely to my eye that altior or top notch would go here.

Patrick Mullins was on Talksport2 yesterday. When asked on whether Douvan and Min would clash at Punchestown, (Aintree wasn't mentioned by Emmet) along the lines of

Well Aintree is there as well, there's a race at Aintree so we'll have to see how they go this week but they clashed at Cheltenham so they could do again. But no decision yet.
