GIN ON LIME
Declared for the Grade 3 Novice Chase on Sunday at Tipperary

It looks a hot looking race for this time of year. I'd be worried it might be too testing for GOL if the expected weather arrives. They'll look after her though.

If she won this race on Sunday (carrying a 6lb penalty) against that field then she is a very good Mare, and would probably rate 145+.

Fan De Blues also has a 6lb penalty.
Fancy Foundations has a 3lb penalty.

Has Fancy been priced up anywhere for the NH chase.
Looks an obvious runner for Cheltenham in 3 weeks then the festival.

Just a nice placed run will do to set her up for the Arkle trial as per Kettle. Busselton Iooks to have everything in his favour doesn't he. He could be a Marsh/RSA type.

Gordon said he would be going to the October meeting after his last win.

But Cheltenham October meeting does have a 2M4F Novice Chase and a 3M Novice Chase, so I have tracked the horse and waiting for further evidence of what he is.

Gordon has won the 2M4F Novice Chase at Cheltenham in October twice, as well as having a NHC train journey running through the 3M Novice Chase.

Cant see Fancy priced up anywhere for the NHC at the moment, that’s probably no surprise, as Fat Jockey have become far more aware of Elliotts race planning than probably anyone/anywhere else.

Sitting and waiting to pounce if he were to win and then go to the 3M at Cheltenham, not the 2M4F.
In the meantime I am happy to have no priced for the NHC quoted, and him be under radar, behind several fancied stablemates for that Festival race.

I believe he is owned by British folk and Gordon tries to get runs over here for the horse so they can attend, that’s why he went to Hereford and Ayr last season.

Kayf Tara.
Bound to be better over further.

Throw in Shirrocco and it screams four miler to me

Busselton is very lowly rated, probably due to him getting 11lb age allowance, that will drop away over the months until he gets no allowance At Cheltenham.
He is going to have to be better than he has shown already to get close in a Grade 1 at Cheltenham with no weight allowance.

Druids Altar has being doing the same for Joseph, getting big weight allowances, but performing better than Busselton, and has won twice since finishing 4th to Fan de Blues and Gin On Lime in a Grade 3, getting a stack of weight.

He is rated 142, to stablemate Busselton’s 132, and I haven’t read that Druids Altar is going to win at Cheltenham.

If Druids Altar was a Cheltenham Grade 1 horse, then Gin On Lime definitely would be, as she beat him 10 lengths, giving him 8lbs, and would receive 7lb from him at Cheltenham, 25lbs in hand on him.

Interesting that Robbie Power takes over on Gin On Lime. Not sure if there is any significance in the fact he also rode Put The Kettle On in this very race before she went on to win the Arkle trial race at Cheltenham ?

I think the PP Plate could be on the agenda for him.

Wouldn't surprise me to see him go well enough at Tipperary this weekend, and then initially being entered in both races at Cheltenhams October meeting to see what mark he is given, and go from there really.

I'm thinking along the lines of The Storyteller who run 4 times prior to winning the Plate, including a G3 Novice Chase over 2m 4f, the same sort of race FF runs in at the weekend, albeit at a different time of the season and course to The Storyteller.

The Kim Muir if he can keep Fancy Foundations under 145, and the NH Chase if he can’t. I’d say that’s odds on the plan, with a mind to switch to the NH Chase if something goes wrong with the main bullets if he’s one of the Kim Muir horses.

Yep, I'd agree, definitely part of the team and those 2 races are most likely, although the plate would come into it too, like cod said.
will depend on how rest of his horses fair.
Always a chance he puts a stamp (race) on him though.
Gordon likes to do that, as we all know.

think the ground is getting too fast , PTKO's race was over 10 seconds faster than standard , might explain the NR's , good to firm instead of good to soft

Gin On Lime +5 to 143. 12lb to make up on Elimay.

Big gap to close but not to say she can't make further improvement. I suspect that's the reason her price hasn't moved post race and post HDB's comments. With Elimay in there, punters just can't see past her which is understandable. It's also why I won't be cashing any Arkle bets on her. The 7lbs she gets will bring her closer to the geldings and the Arkle may well cut right up again. The extra ?50,000 prize money available will also be tempting. The performance of Magic Daze tomorrow is of huge interest as well.

Big move for Magic Daze in the Mares Chase. 20's into 12's in one move with Paddy Power/Betfair. Timed at 16.28 so will be interesting if others follow suit.
