I thought you can get away with it if the races aren't the same code?

If I backed the same horse in a hurdle race then a chase for example?

Makes sense I suppose.

I'd argue (if I was that way inclinded) that the result of the Cross Country race holds no bearing on the result of the Grand National.

I can see why a Chase to a Chase would (King George, Gold Cup) on the same horse... but I'd feel hard done to?
