Hi all,

It's that time of year again!! We've spent a year talking about it and we're about to embark on our favourite 4 days of the year.

I'd like to thank every single poster here for their contributions over the past year. Its been a pretty horrendous year for everybody and for me personally this forum has been an escape from all of that, and whilst everything has changed, this place has remained the constant. Without the joy the community on here brings, the last 12 months would have been so much darker. I look forward to 2022 when we can hopefully all attend and we can all enjoy a warm, overpriced drink together.

Thanks also have to be extended to the moderators, you all do a fantastic job keeping this running. Kev - thanks once again for steering the ship in exceptional fashion. Hopefully with a successful week I can make another donation to help keep the good work going here.

Thanks again to everyone, I hope you all have a fantastic week. Let's hope they all get home safe and we all make a few quid.

Thank you, and good luck to every one of you.

Up at 5.30......I’m not getting nervous honest!!!
I would also like to say a big big thank you to all the moderators, administrators and contributors on this forum. Some of you have really helped guide me through my antepost betting ideas and selections. You have also made me laugh a lot and helped me pass the time during a strange and frustrating year. Best of luck everyone, I hope you enjoy the next 4 days, experience a decent profit and continue onwards and upwards :bee:

Lovely words, echo all this

And thank you to everybody from me. A newbie for this season and can confidently say I’d have never twigged on to some bets which I’m in a nice position with now we’re it not for checking here every day.

....well said, Ryan.

It’s been a miserable old year with this pandemic but FJ has provided a haven. Win, lose or draw, the big success of this Festival has been the solace this place has provided in extraordinary times.

Thanks FJ, more than a horse racing forum.

Very glad indeed that I joined this forum, thankyou to the many outstanding contributors, having a focus has really helped and I honestly believe I’ve got the best selection of antepost bets I’ve ever had heading into the festival, thanks largely to the excellent insight and discussion on here.

Even if the next few days doesn’t go half as well as I hope, I’ll definitely be sticking my hand in my pocket to make a donation to the running costs. It’d be great to meet some of you in person through the next jumps season once the crowds are allowed back in.

All the very best for the next few days team, let’s go lads - I’ve got a bloody wedding to pay for!

Hard to believe the week is finally here. Feeling very excited and a bit nervous at the same time.

Thank you to all the members and staff here for making FJ a fun and informative place to be.

It's been a pleasure to be a bit more involved this year and I am very appreciative of you all putting up with a clueless idiot like myself and letting me learn as much as I can from you all. I feel a little less clueless than I did 12 months ago, haha.

The very best of luck to you all!

Thanks to everyone for everything this year. Mods, posters, competition entrants and hosts etc. Been a long crazy year but we’re there people. The best week in the year starts right now.

Away from the festival itself for a second, I’ve had some tough times this year and there was a spell last may, June, July ish where I was in a real state with my mental health. In that time one of the only things that would take my mind off of that sadness and pain I was going through was discussing Cheltenham with you all for 9 months later. Just as a retreat from inside my brain. And it really did help. It honestly did. Thankyou all. This forum is incredible for so many things and so much more than just racing. This is a good community of people we’ve got here who are almost like virtual friends I suppose. Good luck everyone this week and let’s hope for another great year.

Not much to add really just to echo the comments above.

When I was at the Gold Cup last year, little did I imagine that the year which followed would have turned out the way that it has. Although we would all much rather be there in person again, somehow its fitting that we should share the Festival on here instead.

There are too many people to thank individually who have contributed in all sorts of ways to the Forum so collectively I thank you all for :
# your experience and thirst for knowledge
# sharing your homework and opinions
# your encouragement and enthusiasm
# making me laugh and being good company
# providing a friendly and safe place to visit

And 2 big THANK YOU 's to Kev who has tirelessly been at the helm through very choppy waters this year (nearly there now my friend) and also to Saxon for his exceptional Race Planning Diary (already acknowleged as Thread of the Year).

Finally (and not something I would have ever given a thought to in the past), this year I'm pretty certain I will be standing up in front of the TV cheering home the ones which I know mean far more to others on here. So in particular I wish Nortons Coin well with his Appreciate It / Bob Ollinger double, because I can visualise his goal scoring celebrations already, Shattered Love for Lobos (he's on loads but at least 250 of his posts contain the words Shattered Love), any winner of any race will do for Kev, 3rd race of the Festival let's hope its Lucky for Spectre and last but not least, never really fancied him for this but because he's one of our own then Kemboy for Archie in the GC.

I echo what everyone else has said. You guys are like my horse racing friends away from my friends, I have loved reading almost everything you all gave to offer and picked up some lovely bets going into this week as a result.
thank you all especially a bid thank you to all those who maintain the site and make this happen!
wishing you all a profitable week and literally like a kid at Christmas and can’t wait to see what gifts the festival brings!

I’ll echo that. I haven’t been on here or posted anywhere near as much this season (not your guys fault I hasten to add, just haven’t got into racing!) but whenever I have logged on periodically there is always something interesting to read whether that’s a titbit of news or someone’s opinion on a race

Thank You all for everything, as always it is a pleasure to be part of this. Best of luck for the week, and enjoy every race :applouse::applouse::applouse:

A big thank you to all from me also. This forum keeping me sane in these strange times. Keeping me busy and my mind active. Wishing everyone a great and successful festival. Be happy and go lucky.

A big thankyou to Kev, The moderators and all the members on this forum, during lockdowns this place has kept me sane, here's hoping we all have a great festival

Sat on some new prices solely thanks to members of this forum and various write ups, thank you to those people in particular. Whatever happens this week it's been good fun building up to it all in any otherwise painfully boring year.

Best of luck everyone. Whether we win or lose, it's still the best four days racing of the week.

Huge thanks to Kev and OV for moving the forum forward. Ista and CoD for they work they put in trying to keep us on the straight and narrow.

For a forum of this size, there are very few fall outs and I think that's down to the quality of members that we have in the site - so a huge thanks to everyone for making this such an enjoyable place to exchange views. Long may that continue!

At this point in time, I'd usually be on my third pint waiting for the train to pull into the station. It's not too be this year but that'll make me look forward to 2022 even more. :very_drunk:

Enjoy and be lucky!:greedy_dollars::greedy_dollars:

My regression graph predicts #PROFIT for all forum members.

On a serious note, I got into horse racing through twitter. I contrast the toxic swamp Horse Racing twitter is to this forum -a place where for many years I've had hilarious, insightful and polite conversations with people who I'm pretty sure would disagree with me on literally everything outside of horse racing. I see posters who were newbies but a year ago leading the charge on the yankees and thinking about how forums I used to love became closed shops of the old guard. And finally for someone who is pretty amateur at this all to have the exposure to the knowledge, but beyond that, the generosity of time that so many posters give to other people. Truly a space to be cherished. I just hope in exchange I was able to help you chuckle along the way

Strength and honour

Thanks to Kev and the mods for keeping this place civil (mostly) and everyone for making it informative (usually).

Thanks also for the good wishes for Kemboy.
