Supreme Novices 2018

MENGLI KHAN won well there, not the most impressive graded race, simular to she one that sayar won but he did it nicely. He seems a type that has took time to acclimatise over hurdles, hed have no chance in a supreme on last years form. But i think hes come on a bundle, i really like him, how good he is I don't know just yet. But he sets a bench mark for these 2m graded novice hurdles.

Nice performance from Khan , hope they keep him at 2m solely because ive invested heavily in Samcro for Ballymore.

Managed to get 20/1 after the Race Quite like the look of him. Had small few quid for this race

Lalor*was beaten when odds-on favourite on his recent hurdling debut at Exeter but only went down by a short-head and the trainer expects to see a sharper performance when he next takes to the track.

Woollacott told sportinglife.com: “Lalor is ever so well. He jumped well and learned a lot at Exeter and while we possibly didn’t quite get the tactics right on the day, it was a good positive experience for the horse and that’s the most important thing.

“We’ve entered him at Cheltenham and it’ll be either there or Ascot the following weekend I’d imagine, Tom (Scudamore) will be in to school him over the next day or two but he looks to have sharpened up quite a bit.

“It’d be amazing for a small yard like ours to have a runner with a real chance in a race like the Supreme as we’ve only around 15 horses in and are not in the same league financially as some of the big stables.”

Lalor is one of 11 entries for the first in the Sky Bet-backed series of six races on the road to the Supreme next March, a race won by Moon Racer and Altior in the past two years.

Colin Tizzard has two potential contenders in the highly-regarded*Slate House*and*Vision des Flos, while Nicky Henderson is also represented as he could unleash the JP McManus-owned*Dame de Compagnie.

Dan Skelton’s*Bedrock*and the Henry Daly-trained*Whatmore*are also joined by Nicky Richards’*Better Getalong, Charlie Longsdon’s*Monty’s Award, Daniele Steele's*Cassivellaunus*Tom George’s*Summerville Boy*and*Western Ryder*from the Warren Greatrex stable.

The sponsors betting:*Slate House 6/4, Dame De Compagnie 7/4, Lalor 6/1, Western Ryder 7/1, Bedrock 8/1, Vision Des Flos 9/1, Better Getalong 14/1, Summerville Boy 14/1, Whatmore 14/1, Monty's Award 16/1, Cassivellaunus 150/1

Backed vision des flos again at 175.9 for the supreme please tizzard run him in the supreme trial. Atleast he's got an entry

Yeah well done, you've been banging that drum for a while, hopefully runs well. Have you left any 3 figure prices for the rest of us? :highly_amused:

I'm actually quite pleased Mengli Khan has appeared in this market as a potential runner for Gigginstown, hopefully means Samcro is more likely to head to the Ballymore!

Not been overly impressed with anything in this race at the moment, Fully expect Samcro to go to the ballymore.

looking forward to seeing Pym & Annamix

I'm adamant he wants 2 miles. If he runs and dosent go close, I'll happily hold my hands up.
Just hope he's given the opportunity :)

:encouragement: That is how money is made. DOn't need to get a treble figure hunch right too many times to be profitable

Pym, Annamix and slate house all due out, maybe get some decent clues for this race over coming weeks

My favourite race of the festival the Supreme, only bet so far is Red Jack at 25/1. Couldn't believe he was that price, especially given Debuchet was 16/1. Mullins seems to have a particularly strong hand this year if all the stable whispers prove to be true. Speaking of Closutton and stable whispers, any info on Francin? A good winner of two 3yo races on the flat in in France, and was apparently all the rage for the Triumph last year, hasn't been seen since.

2 from 5 in France on the flat . He had a setback last September which ruled him out of juvenile races.
Could be anything over hurdles. But the exchange prices say they expect little from him. Supreme winners don't go unbacked in mullins yard.

True. I'd love to know if he's back in training all the same. Physically speaking, the horse looked like a carbon copy of Douvan.

Real Steel runs this weekend and is very much one to keep an eye out for, currently 40/1 for the supreme he is trained by Willie and owned by Jared Sullivan, his narrow defeat in France has worked out well and Ive backed him for this before he makes his Irish Debut

If already backed him the form with izzo worked out pretty well 140.0 supreme and 75.0 neptune.

wow nice price Scooby91, i suspect he wont be 40/1 after the weekend

Last time I backed him was yesterday afternoon at 132.0 supreme when I seen entries. Could be good, hope he goes for the 2 mile maiden. And think he will as there's a good one in the 2m4, Madison to Monroe.

Bit of a random one but real steel on the exchanges is named reel steel. Is there anyway that could be a problem?

I noticed that also, might be worth a phone call to them to get it put right before he wins and goes fav!!! ;-)
