Supreme Novice Hurdle 2019

Don't follow tipsters personally but Andy Holding has a proven record to be fair to him.

Day to day.

His ante post has been poor so far this year (small sample), I think it was Black Op in the RSA which I remember thinking was poor at the time.

He has tipped Getaway Trump not Al Dancer

Been saying for a long time on these pages that Nicholls thinks alot about Getaway Trump.Mate has shares and asked me to watch a vid of its 1st race.Said to him it will win races thats when he said Nicholls thinks alot of it.

I know its not all about times but Al Dancers win at Cheltenham was 5 seconds quicker than EDNs win there and he went a furlong further. I don't think he is that bad tbh but obviously Angels Breath seems to be the more fancied.

Is that correct Jon?

yep 2 seconds, thats what i thought, remember segal mentioning time.
not significant for me.

Nicholls fancies pretty much every horse I've ever heard him talk about though...

She's not one I'm keen on but I can see why people would like her. I'd be more inclined to back her in the Betfair Hurdle than this.

Fair point

I have no idea what that means in terms of timings though :highly_amused:

The way Elixir De Nutz runs is not very energy conserving either, so if they can put a lid in the early part of the race he may improve beyond that time too.

According to Racing UK site

EDN
5 ran
Winning Time 4m 5.22s (1m 7f 216 yards)

AD
9 ran
Winning Time 4m 0.2s (2m 179 yards)

That's the Sandown race (Tolworth) time for EDN, not Cheltenham.

Sorry yes it was the last win, so it was a flatter track as well. I am not sure how you equivalate time to weight to distance etc either. Minefield haha

:very_drunk: Stop hammering the beers Jon :p

haha I am saving myself for the festival now.

What I am trying to say is EDN took longer to get round, travelling a furlong less, but carrying more weight on a flatter track than Al Dancers last performance...…….or something like that :)

Sandown is quite the test tbf, and the ground was soft that day, Elixir De Nutz has some nuts that's for sure.

You'd be poor very quickly comparing times on different days, different ground AND different courses to work out which horse is faster than which directly.
