What are the actual rules on these?

It came up last night with Joseph O'Brien talking about Tower Bridge.

I know a few years ago Coneygree was parachuted in at the last minute and ended up wrecking my 50/1 Djakadam.

It does seem rare but it has the potential to turn a market upside down. For instance had it been good ground and Global Citizen was supplemented for the Supreme I think he would be second favourite.

Can you supplement into a novice race. as i thought not.
but obrien mentioned supplementing one of his the other day

Yes you can. All the novice grade 1s. All the championship races.
You can't into handicaps obviously.

Coneygree was always entered for the gold cup.

Only the likes of lil rocker feller and anni power etc.. supplemented into the champion hurdle recently.

All G1 Novice Hurdles 6250 pounds
Arkle & RSA 8500
JLT 7500
Champion Hurdle 20000
Champion Chase 17500
Ryanair & Stayers Hurdle 15000
Gold Cup 27500

All payable at the six day stage
