High Definition looks absolutely tailor made for this

Huge long striding stayer

going to need to get a couple of firms to price him up as he's only in unibets market

Shouldve taken the 10s

Some pretty short prices out there

Will have to try and pair him with something in a free bet double

Edit have had 1.5 points on at 8s

Fernando Vichy 50/1 Unibet
The Mediterranean 33/1 generally

Look interesting stayers in the making, with the St Leger in mind.

Donnacha said the Irish Derby next, and stepping up in trip after, with the St Leger mentioned too.

I took 20/1 on Wordsworth earlier in the year. He's bred for the job - full brother to Kew Gardens.

Not fussed if high definition wins today, just want to see him staying on strongly

In fact he may be more likely to run here if he loses

I see Hurricane Lane is into 6/5 for this on B365 after easily winning in France tonight, still showing as 11/4 on PP and Betfair. As an Irish Derby winner, he's an obvious candidate but clearly no value left.

Would this still be a target en route to the arc?

Not sure he really beat that much at the top end of the middle distance division tonight but he obviously did it easily enough.

Id say there's almost no chance he will run here now

be aimed to peak for the arc surely

I agree.

In Ireland, he has destroyed the field assembled for the country's best 12F race for colts.

He has now repeated that by destroying the field assembled for France's best 12F race for 3yo colts.

And before that he came third in the best race in Britain over 12F for 3yo colts.

And before that he won the best race in Britain for 10F 3yo colts.

Sending him to the St Leger must be right off the agenda once Sheikh Mo assessed todays race.

There are 3 weeks between the St Leger and Arc, so its not impossible to do both, but that's probably considered with horses that have done an awful lot less that HL has already and then blossom to win the St Leger.

Now he is at the top table of 12F performers, and sired by Frankel, why not focus 100% on the Arc? - maybe via the Prix Neil on Arc day, if the horse needs a run beforehand.

William Buick said post-race that HL is getting quicker all the time and the Arc would have to be big consideration.

It doesn't sound like he would be suggesting the St Leger now.

The antepost market for Donny will adjust if/when it's confirmed HL won't be going, so any big priced slips for other horses could look better bets, should that happen.

I took 12/1 on Wordsworth this morning on B365 after rewatching yesterday's race but can see he's clipped into 10/1 now. I wonder what's happened to Sir Lucan who beat Wordsworth and hasn't been since? He has a great voltigeur entry but a load of O'Brien's do at this stage

I still think high definition has a cracking chance here

clearly didn't run his race in the Irish Derby hopefully we get to see him in the great voltigeur or something

I will have more on him once he is declared somewhere

Pricewise has tipped him tonight, and Lone Eagle, as his two Leger fancies.

Also in the Racing Post, AOB has confirmed that The Mediterranean and Wordsworth look obvious St Leger types, as they will stay well, and are able to run well over 12F too.

St Leger entries confirmed today, 31 initial entries.

No list in the Racing Post yet, but if you go into Hurricane Lane or Lone Eagle, on there, and check their entries, the full St Leger list is in there.

10 entries now: Racing Post BETTING FORECAST
8/11 Hurricane Lane, 13/2 Ottoman Emperor, 7/1 High Definition, 15/2 Mojo Star, 12/1 Interpretation, 14/1 Sir Lucan, 18/1 The Mediterranean, 22/1 Youth Spirit, 50/1 Fernando Vichi, Scope.

The odd thing about this race (in general) is that the main "trials": the English and Irish Derbys, the Gt Voltigeur and the Gordon are all run over 1m4f so it's often the case that the horses with the best form have never run beyond 1m4f and this is the case this year as well. So there is the usual question about staying the trip.
The best group form is clearly the odds on Hurricane Lane and after that the less experienced Mojo Star. Is Mojo Star a horse that makes his own bad luck? The much bigger price is a big plus.

In the tennis we had the unexposed type in Raducanu who had run up a sequence of comfortable wins against the group one winner in Bencic.

Interpretation and Ottoman Emperor are the Raducanu types here and Interpretation has form over the trip. From Goodwood it looked like Sir Lucan would stay the longer trip better than Ottoman Emperor and has won over 1m5f.

So looking for some value against the form horse (HL) and the Dettori horse (HD) my 3 for the race are:

Mojo Star, Interpretation, Sir Lucan

My remaining antepost ticket is The Mediterranean at 33/1.

I had Wordsworth who is out, and I perhaps foolishly cashed out my antepost ticket (albeit for a slight profit) on Hurricane Lane after he won in France, with my thinking being he would be primed for the Arc instead.

Couldn't be having High Definition given the evidence on the track, it's a pity Ryan Moore hasn't got to pick one so we'd know which one to steer clear of :welcoming:.

High Definition should be 33/1 hes looked like a complete yak since the dante

Would be delighted if he won though having backed him ages ago

Different tactics for The Mediterranean today but same result, pleased with the place.

Really couldn't understand the drift in price today and how he was greater odds than the likes of Sir Lucan as The Med consistently runs his races. Hopefully he'll be a decent price for the Ascot gold cup next year. Mojo Star obviously another to consider for that.

High Definition probably needs to try another sport :ambivalence:

The Epsom Derby form stood up but Hurricane Lane has clearly improved. How does he compare to Adayar now?
Mojo Star may be aimed at the long distance cup races next season. Tarnawa could still be a force in the Arc based on today's good run in the Irish Champion..
If Snowfall runs as well it's looking like a hot Arc. The Med proved his consistency again. Horses at the back did not figure in the finish.
