PM for that please chaps.

As far as possible we want to keep peoples stakes off the forum, so it doesn't influence opinions...

As the correlation between money gambled and knowledge isn't a smooth upward line :)

£10 EW Shattered Love, Delta Work & The Storyteller

Shall I use my invisibility for good or evil :highly_amused:

Well done Charlie, have a belting night! Have one for all of us on here :)

I had Shattered Love in a double with Cue Card, first time I've ever backed him, fell for the sentimental twaddle

A few years back I had a great few weeks, started off backing horses at small stakes, say 5pts & only one or two per day, within three weeks I turned 12pts into just over 700pts. Slowly over the three weeks I incressed my stake and on some days I was doing 50pts per horse. The last day I went in the bookies had a 90pts single in the first race on a 4/7 shot McCoy was riding him, the horse went 30L clear jumping three out and at the second last flight he fell.

I was fuming and started backing every race and by the last race I was 650pts down. Went to the casino after that and blew the rest by 2am then went home and kicked the cat (just kidding it was the wife).

One thing I learn't from that in life was:

1, Never up your stake just because you are winning.

2, Never go into a bookies with your full stack.

3, Never start chasing when you have one or two losers.

4, Never kick the wife when you get home.

Good luck tomorrow all...

Well done Charlie.Make sure its a bad head in the morning!!!
And to all others who are having a result this week.
Can we make sure the bookies are well and truly limping of the course on Friday blooded and bruised :highly_amused:

4 winners on the first day, so a good start, 4 on Wednesday, but coc knocked me back, but a glorious six today. Maldini let me down for a magnificent seven. Still, not complaining, a couple of grand up, with a free 55 bets tomorrow. I just wish I gave the other 51 weeks of the year the same attention!!!. 19 winners in 2016, 17 last year and 14 so far. Seems like a nightmare tomorrow, but who cares, what an amazing Cheltenham. Good luck all.

I think 90% of my selections has been placed, yet I normally only bet win. Must learn from this as I would be showing a nice profit, at the moment I am still behind :disgust:

My only ok bet was a silly 25p e/w lucky 63

Rather Be 12/1 BOG
William Henry 10/1
Nube Negra 10/1
The Storyteller 11/1
Hunter Call 10/1 Void
Theinval 10/1

Bet365 have just been offered me 185.58, tempting for just 31.50 but I do not have anything else in the Browns and I do like The Storyteller 15/2 now but I think D Russell will not ride him because he was injured today, If it does finish in the first four I might cashout as I should be offered around £350 as I do not fancy Theinval in the last leg because of the ground..

No more placed £45.00 :(
One placed £212.00
both place just under 1k

What would you do?

Great result for such a small layout and also had BOG so paid a bit over 1.2k

Other than that I could not pick my nose today...

Top man. I was watching him the whole race. As only had a tiny bet on the race myself and You deserve a nice one after all the ones you put up in the comp thread. Good work.

Overall had a poor year, Summerville Boy (who i didn't really fancy) and Native River my only singles wins and a PP special with Samcro and Altior to win and Monalee and Tiger Roll to place. Few decent placed efforts including being unlucky with Ms Parfois and Top Gamble.

Big losers were Un De Sceaux, Apples Jade and Cause of Causes. If one had won I'd have been in healthy profit but am down a few hundred quid.

Onwards and upwards to Aintree :)

Thanks, yep unlucky with the comp.. they had to find a 11/1 winner to beat us, so that was a BLOW but at least we gave them a run...

Enjoyable festival and already looking forward to next year and Samcro winning the RSA..

I can't even describe how my festival would have been if those 3 had won...

Some what incredible I have come from the darkest hour to a pretty decent outlay.

My very first bet has come in and I’d completely forgotten about it

1U on Blow by Blow and Samcro both to place - 20/1

Antepost has really dug me out a whole after day despite all of my AJ and CoC bets going down Samcro and BBB have pulled me through.

A big thing for me was small AP bets at big prices such as Our Duke @33/1, Invitation Only @75/1 and Al Boum Photo at 90/1 saved me a lot of money on the day as I had no need to back them!

Will calculate everything up tonight but confident I’m out ahead overall

Approx 310 pts staked = 720 returned

big mistakes = cashed out mohaayed 2pt ew (82pts approx lost)
photo's lost = shantou (40pts), rather be (42pts), carefully selected (48pts), glenloe (50pts)

lessons = antepost bets only around 20pts but no good/acca's around 20pts no good. Reduce for next year (said same for last couple of years)

Cannot grumble and very pleased. NRNB and multiple bets per race once again proved to be invaluable and a profit for 6 years running.

Best moment = Storyteller 14-1 (was gutted last year when on at similar price when withdrawn from MP)

I've only been on this forum for a while and can see you guys take a lot of pleasure in anti post bets and beating the bookies, so I just wonder what you prefer. I like getting Winners at this meeting and I purposely aim for as many winners as possible. I managed 19 in 2016, 17 last year and 20 this year. I realise you have to back a few horses to do this, but I turned £600 into £3k. Back to my original point, is it about winners or just about getting the buzz of a great price months before.
