Ryanair 2020

Min
8g Walk In The Park - Phemyka
Mrs S Ricci
4/1151-2
RPR 180c OR 171c
He delivered a career-best performance when winning the Melling Chase by 20 lengths at Aintree in April and is back for another campaign in top races from 2m to about 2m4f. He might start off in the John Durkan at Punchestown, a race he won last year, and hopefully he’ll be adding to his four Grade 1 chase wins.

Footpad entered up this week, tempted to add him for this beforehand  Re watched the Ryanair from last year and he was still there turning for home before blowing up (reported to have bled post race) could be worth another try at the race

Footpad
7g Creachadoir - Willamina
Simon Munir & Isaac Souede
111/F28-
RPR 170c OR 165c
Things didn’t work out for him last season when he had a couple of hold-ups and only got to run three times. So he has to put all that behind him and hopefully he’ll show all the talent he displayed in his unbeaten novice season when he won four Grade 1s. We’re planning to go longer distances with him and he might start off in the Boomerang.ie Chase over 2m6f at Thurles on Thursday.

Min 10/1
Douvan 10/1

Haven't backed Min in a single for this race but he's the one I have in mind...(just too short to really bother getting stuck into) and I'm glad I didn't, because Douvan is just a better horse.

If they ever lined up I'd want to be on Douvan over Min and they're currently the same price.

Can't back Douvan though with any confidence at 10s either.

So I hope they aim for the moon with Douvan.

King George then Ryanair wouldn't be madness.... Vautour did alright in those two

and just posted about Footpad in GC thread

Put in here as a couple have backed him.
Interesting that master dino was sold today for €420,000

Who bought him Scooby??

Just found it, Munir & Souede. Please ignore all the tripe I originally posted. It just dawned on me that Mister Dino might still be classed as a novice as he never raced after Plumpton last season?? He currently rates 159 over fences? Is he still classed a novice and therefore a possible JLT entry?

...very interesting but not exactly sure if that means it’s on the mend and might make the festival. I backed it in April for this @ 25-1, a bit daft given its injury and that price is still available now.

For 420k I’d be confident he’s on the mend! Either that or someone has had it off big time :)

Papot's?

Never heard of them?

So must mean they don't travel horses to Chelt?

Not looked very deeply into this though

champion french owners

would've liked to have seen master dino over again, looked a complete natural over a fence

Ah I see, just found them - don't recognise the colours so my assumption (I assume) is correct, it's a nail in the coffin in terms of seeing him in the UK.

Deleted ...I was speaking nonsense

I got all my info wrong too and thought Munir & Sounede had just bought Master Dino instead of selling him. I then backed him TWAR on Hills. If he’s been sold to French owners then the likelihood is he will never race in Britain again......another bet bites the dust......what a fool I am :disgust:

For me, hes being mentioned in the wrong thread so far.

FOOTPAD

After reportedly bleeding from the nose when last seen, finishing at the rear in the Ryanair Chase in March, Footpad got back on track this afternoon with a convincing win in the Boomerang.ie Chase at Thurles.

Upped in trip to this two and three quarter miler, the star novice chaser of 2017/2018 began the process of putting last season’s forgettable campaign behind him.

Eleven-year-old Mala Beach ran well, but he had to answer to the Daryl Jacob-ridden Footpad from between the final two fences.

Still only a seven-year-old, and pretty much already a proven staying type from his time over the minor obstacles, the Creachadoir gelding here eventually scored an easy ten length win.

The 2017 Galway Plate hero, and top of the pile in the Ryanair Chase in 2018, Balko Des Flos disappointed, back fourth of the five.

"It is lovely to see the horse back on the racetrack and he had plenty of enthusiasm and jumped and travelled very very well. It's a great starting point for him and his jumping was very very good today and he never missed a beat the whole way around,” said Jacob on the Willie Mullins-trained victor.

"Today's trip wasn't a problem for him and ideally going a little bit quicker early doors would have suited him but he is nice and fresh and it was good to see a performance like that, this early in the year.

"It was mission accomplished today."

My fault probably, just thought 50/1 was a decent price for a bit of a flyer.

More likely to come here though as I've said in there (GC thread).

Jockey will put me off though :devilish:

Yeah, I think I was just following on from the 50's that were mentioned on the Gold Cup thread, but I too would agree that the Ryanair would be his best option.

Yep this is the likely place for Footpad, unless he runs in, and wins the King George. Then the Gold Cup would loom large.

Regardless of future race planning, I am so happy to see that brilliant economical jumping back, it’s poetry in motion.

Was a lovely jumping performance today. I got a bit on for the Gold Cup post race at a reasonable price with cash out but haven’t backed for this race yet. For some reason I allowed my after race judgment to be influenced by Min and Douvan potentially coming here when it’s no different to having Kemboy and ABP in the GC....damn those pink silks...haha
