Ryanair 2019

Timmy's back with his colouring book & his crayons.

That said, you could have have taken him to cheltenham last year when he had his prefect ground. Joke horse, joke trainer, joke owner.

Pretty sure the horse wasn't fit, but yes, it was perfect ground.

I'm sure they'll get by, even though a few snowflakes on the internet are so outraged by their decisions.

Get ready for Lydia's reaction.
She'll be fuming.
No love lost.

But the horse WAS fit Timmy. I'd had you down as the epitome of a snowflake.

Mainly by you, on this forum :highly_amused:

Pretty sure they said that it wasn't, but that's by the bye.

As gamblers, we often get things wrong, and you can just notch that one up as another :)

Meade says road to respect could still go here

This is him to the SL

Meade said: "Road To Respect is in good form. He has one piece of work to do and that should leave him right.

"He's in good shape and fingers crossed everything will go well between now and the Gold Cup."

They must not remember what they say to different journos :highly_amused:

ATR has the rest of the interview on their site.
RP being selective again.

Still only says it'll have an entry though.

He did, though, caution: “Road To Respect is going to be entered for the Ryanair as well. That option is going to be left open. He’s very good and will do a bit of work on Tuesday.

“The plan all along was to go for the Ryanair with Tout Est Permis and he probably will go. He’s in great form.”

There it is :)

Footpad
There is a long debate to be had about which race he will run in. He was spectacular last year in a very strongly run Arkle. As a juvenile hurdler, he improved for going further. Fences have brought more speed back into his locker, especially the way he jumps. It is very easy for a novice to stand out when they jump as well as he does but it is different when you step up to the top level in open company and everything jumps well. That aspect isn't as big to Footpad now as it was when he was a novice. He looked like he would win at Leopardstown but got tired. He can go up in trip but it is a long time since he has raced beyond two miles. There's a big decision to be made about where he and Min run next week

Min
He'd be a winner of a Supreme Novices' Hurdle and a Champion Chase if Altior weren't around. Unfortunately Altior is around. Min has been very good this year. He was good at Punchestown over two and a half and he did what he had to do at Leopardstown. He seems to be in great form at home but it will be a big discussion whether he runs over two miles or two and a half next week.

These are the quotes from Ruby. I personally still feel HE wants Min in the Ryanair... that's been my opinion all the way through, when it looked unlikely, then likely, and currently unlikely according the the exchanges...

BUT

I am no way ruling Min running here out yet!

Completely agree. Ruby wants Min in the Ryanair because he knows he won’t beat Altior and he thinks Min is better than Footpad and UdS over 2m5f. If you can’t win the Champion Chase, you want to win the Ryanair.

I think Ruby is talking sense. I’d be very surprised if he doesn’t get his way.

:encouragement: Thought I'd be on my own tbh!

I agree with every word. Min being better than Footpad and UDS now is the absolute crux of it... if he's working well this time next week, we're in a good spot :)
