Ryanair 2019

He's massively over priced.
Watch footpads run last time and watch top notch's run at ascot. I'd be adamant he's suffered an injury there, nicky said he wasnt right since and he missed chelt and aintree. he's a lovely jumper before that and after that when he came back at Sandown and won a decent race very easily. Look at his back form. I'd give him a huge chance in the ryanair. And a chance in the gold cup.
The stats don't bother me at all.

I'd go along with that Scooby, His form prior to the Ascot race was excellent, and the performance at Ascot didn't seem right.
Although I'd say the price is fairish.

Top Notch is a lovely little horse but for me he hasn't beat anything of note.

He's won 3 G2s beating Art Mauresque, Josses Hill, Double Shuffle and a G1 Novice Chase beating Baron Alco.

For me he is a talented horse nothing exceptional but has been really well placed.

Compare that to the horses he's finished 2nd to Identity Thief, Irving, Peace & Co, Yorkhill. Whenever he's run into something half decent he's been beat.

I wouldnt worry about when he was a 4yo over hurdles.
As a chaser he's beat
Disko, Politologue they're top quality horses. He's smashed up frodon and baron alco who are good horses.
He's earned a rating in the 160s. He's a very good horse in terms of a Ryanair. Iv no doubt of that.

Backing Not Top Notch at the fez is the fastest way to the poorhouse Imo

Despite being fairly consistent Top Notch is yet to win at Cheltenham, and as for finishing ahead of Politologue there, that horse has an absolutely shocking record at the track and that race was the closest he had come to winning at Cheltenham so far, even Nicholls has been out and said he prefers a flat track.

I can see snippets of form, but not enough to interest me unfortunately. It is a race I generally struggle with anyway, and as such have only had small speculative goes on currently, but I can't see me adding Top Notch myself. I'm with others, I think he has been well placed.

That's all fair comments. I'm looking forward to him.

Will be interesting to see the field come March i don't think it will be as strong a race as many seem to think.

They might not be the "sexy" ones, but min and top notch imo are very good horses with leading chances.

Rather Be 33/1 for me at this stage strikes me as a decent e/w bet. Im on Monalee and Footpad already but not convinced they come here after first runs this seasonal so been sniffing around for something at a price.

Hope Disko comes back. Good horse.

I second this big time. I know he’s had his issues but form over 2m5f is absolutely rock solid. Forgotten horse.

Think he'll go for the King George? Was getting cut for that last year before not appearing anywhere...

I wonder if he'll be aimed at a handicap again. HAving been brought down at Cheltenham last time when going well (and well fancied) and also being beaten a head at the festival, both over 2m4f - I'd be looking at him in the Brown Plate on the THursday rather than the Ryanair.

If he'd have won on Saturday then it'd be a different story but I think they'll go for a festival handicap rather than win a big handicap on the way and try and win a Ryanair?

Disko- Discorama double anyone :highly_amused:

With Kevin and you on Min. Mentioned him for this last season before Douvan had his setback.

No point him sniffing Altior's backside anymore, he may do a Sizing John and be better for not chasing the same horse around and up in trip.

3 times I made a case for Min, scooby starts talking about Top Notch and the love for Min arrives :p:highly_amused:

Not a Sizing John type though, Sizing John wasn't out battled by a Politilogue when he stepped out of Douvan's shadow...he thrived for the step up. I don't think Min will, I just think this'll be a weaker contenst and he's just below QMCC ability.

I can't talk to you about Min ever again, not after you was right about him last season :highly_amused:

Have edited my previous post to pacify you ;)

I also made a complete balls up anyway, I actually put Douvan up for this last season not Min, times must have been tough then :highly_amused:

Meade will ease him back gradually. The injury was a serious one he fractured his skull and wither in his box. Potential Gold Cup horse if there is no lasting damage.

My ego and I are content now :highly_amused:
In all seriousness I do feel a little hypocritical as I've been quite 'anti-min' most of his career ... but every horse has their level and I'm happy to be in min because if you take out the trip (which is unexposed to an extent) Min has the best actual form in this race so far.
Loads will change; but if Min cam produce the same level of form as his QMCC 2nd, over this trip, he'd be a worthy favourite ... so I want him onside for now.

I've always wanted him over the intermediate trip myself. Simular to Monalee, a front running 2m5f I think would suit him and I how we get to see him soon. When he stepped up in trip as a novice the horses like Our Duke managed to reverse form over shorter so until I see it, I'll think Ryanair would be better than GC ... but certainly possible he's now wanting further

Yeah similar to Monalee. I think Disko is more of a galloper and stays better. Stayed strong over 3m at Punchestown. Meade said he would be a Gold Cup horse before the injury.

Would sooner have the runner up at 33s. Don’t think politilogue likes Cheltenham at all.
