Royal Ascot 2019

Day 3 selections, and much my best position of the week (before they run and it all goes pear-shaped). Most backed as soon as 5-day decs came through, and luckily with some of them I got in before they shortened.

Race 1) Sunday Sovereign 2 points @ 9/2
Race 1) Air Force Jet 1 point @ 14/1

Race 2) FOX CHAIRMAN 5 points @ 11/1

Race 5) Hero Hero 2 points @ 25/1
Race 5) Migration 2 points @ 20/1

Race 6) Constantinople 2 points @ 5/1

————————————

Following Dashing Willoughby’s Win (I had 14/1) I have that win rolling into 3 doubles and trebles with:
Race 2) Fox Chairman @ 8/1
Race 5) Migration @ 20/1

Following Southern Hills Win (at 10/1), I have 2 Yankee’s containing him plus three others:

Yankee 1
(Southern Hills 10/1 Won)
Race 2) Fox Chairman 5/1
Race 5) Hero Hero 20/1
Race 6) Constantinople 5/1

Yankee 2
(Southern Hills 10/1 Won)
Race 2) Cape Of Good Hope 5/1
Race 5) Hero Hero 20/1
Race 6) Constantinople 5/1

I have a Yankee starting for Thursday/Friday that I backed before the meeting started.
Thurs Race 2) Fox Chairman 8/1
Thurs Race 6) Sinjaari 8/1
Friday Race 1) Daahyeh 20/1
Friday Race 5) Hotsy Totsy 10/1

And finally a Thursday/Friday smaller stakes Yankee based on horses who have performed softer ground
Thurs Race 3) Star Catcher 8/1
Thurs Race 4) Thomas Hobson 20/1
Friday Race 2) Jack Yeats 33/1
Friday Race 6) Collide 12/1
Couldn’t resist having Jack Yeats in here, he looks like he could build into a 12/14f Stakes horse, (maybe even the St Leger) though I know this may be too soon.

Hope they all line up tomorrow (fingers crossed no non-runners) and I can watch the drama play out. If could manage one winner then I hope it’s Fox Chairman.

Good luck on Day 3 everyone.

Some excellent positions there HF.

Really hope Fox Chairman does the business for you.

You nap, Lobos nap and my nap all run on the same day, in the same colours. What's the chances of that.

Good luck all.

Top betting yesterday CPC, we’ll done, I hope you generated a decent profit.

Love your confidence on Fox Chairman Hampton Fox, 5 points is epic, I hope the Fox gets the job done as does Queen Power for Lobos. Are you Leicester fans by any chance??

I’ve just about got my head above the water on day 3 but could really do with a lifeline today as I’ve hit the canvas 3 times and punch drunk. I need a Fleeting victory to give a major boost to a live Lucky 63 but gone for the following Multiples:

L63: Sunday Sovereign, King Ottaker, Fleeting, Dee Ex Bee, Beatboxer & Constantinople

L31: Ventura Rebel, Kick On, Aweedram & Constantinople

L31: Expressionist, Fox Chairman, Starcatcher, Stradivarius & Dark Vision

And finally for the Royal meeting a Royal theme:

King Ottaker, Flag of Honour, King Ademar, Queen Power & Sir Ron Priestly

I’m tempted to follow suit and do a King Power Lucky 31 and a Gosden Lucky 15

Good luck all, let’s keep those winners rolling in, hopefully your wave will drag me along with you!!

Yes King Pimm I am a Leicester fan. It doesn’t affect me parting with money on King Power horses though, but it does make me take a close look at all of their horses, videos, form ,breeding etc. So I tend to know more about them. There’s lots of them that I wouldn’t back [I don’t think Queen Power will stay today]. I have thought from his debut at Newbury that Fox Chairman was their best horse, and could be Group 1 class (but it’s only his third run, so he probably needs to be better than a Group 3 class to win, very early in his career). I would just look for a fair run for him today and a chance to see what he can do. The race at Chester was a farce for him, so his true ability is probably yet to be revealed.

Plenty of nice prices here for today. We all seem to be on the same horses, and most of the twitter world too. My negative side is eating away at me haha. Sunday Sovereign, formlines everywhere, handles soft and stays further...whats not to like?

My bets:

Sunday Sovereign, 6.5/1 and 6/1

Fox Chairman 8/1 and Great Scot 14/1 (saver)

I did call Queen Power as being bad value at her price antepost, she has a lot on her plate here. Out to 4s again, will she stay? Not had a bet here myself. Sharmadals are generally shorter trip horses. Fleeting should be tough to beat.

DXB at 10/1 + Stradivarius at 6/4

Small flutter on Eclipse Storm, will be fine on the ground, has shaped like a mile will be ok. His breeding would cast a little doube, but the price allows for that. 66./1

Quite like Almania, but haven't backed him and have missed the 20s!

Noticed a Jockey change from 5-Day decs that may be interesting for Friday. Jamie Spencer is a master of straight-track big field races at Royal Ascot, and he gave a masterclass in last seasons Sandringham on the plunge-horse eventually sent off fav, Agrotera, for Ed Walker.

This year in the Sandringham Jamie Spencer was jocked-up for a George Margason on the outsider Model Guest. My own video and form study brought me to two horses to back, One was an Ed Walker horse called HOTSY TOTSY. She opened at 10/1, and it looked odd that Jamie Spencer wasn’t riding for the stable on a filly with a good chance.

Now with final decs in yesterday, Jamie Spencer is jocked-up on HOTSY TOTSY (drawn 18 of 28) which gives me added confidence that she has got the best jockey for the race on board.

My other bet is INVITATIONAL (drawn 19 of 28).

2.30 - Expressionist 11/1 e/w (1st 3)

3.05 - King Ottakar 11/2 e/w (1st 3)

3.40 - Sparkle Roll 16/1 e/w (1st 4)

4.20 - Cross Counter 4/1

5.00 - Velorum 11/1 e/w, Motafaawit 12/1 e/w (1st 6)

5.35 - Sir Ron Priestly 11/2 e/w (1st 5)

SDS will not want to watch that again.

Not sure he'd have beat winner anyway tbf

I think he would have but that's racing.

SDS isn't having a good meeting. Rayong was coming with a strong run yesterday before the door was shut in front of him.

I did all of Frankie’s other than the 5.00 in a Canadian because I fancied a few of them. Praying for it to happen. I never liked him, but if this comes in, I’ll be after marrying him!

Brilliant CPFC. Rooting for you now.

markets are interesting for last 2 races now.
and if he does win the next they'll get more interesting.

Wonder if Gary Wilshire is laying them this time:highly_amused:

He is riding with such confidence.

This next horse is far too short but I can't bring myself to lay it.

I am currently sat on the thinking man’s throne.

10p e-w Canadian currently being offered back to me at £950.

I’m far from rich, I just love my racing, so you can imagine how tough the decision is.
