Now there’s no sell by date on these free bets. How come you still using them each week. Especially on bets like Kemboy at 6-1 in August. ??

I'm reluctant to comment on how anyone backs my horses (or any horses really) but Kemboy will certainly not be out until November at the earliest and, until then, his price will only get smaller due to the misfortunes of others.

Would I swap him for anything else? No.
Would I back him in a single at 6/1 now? No.

But it's not a good price right now. The reigning champion is available at bigger.
And like archie says, we'll likely not see him for a while, and others may enhance or not

The odds of 6/1 don't represent that being the case though, that is the point.
 
I've got loads of thoughts on this top be honest.

I don't think it's as simple as the price.

If you switched Kemboy 6/1 to Altior 4/1 and backed it every week people would feel different.

Debates like this were a big part of my early rumblings around on here :highly_amused:

It probably is abit impatient.

But here are my three reasons:
1) I fancied nothing for the free bets that I hadn’t already backed for any race at Cheltenham.
2) Kemboy was best price with Skybet but I didn’t want to put any cash on him.
3) I’m very well involved on Delta Work in the race with actual cash and if I can build up a few free bets on Kemboy (the biggest danger in my mind at this moment), id be covering myself if Kemboy won. It’s simple to get in a better position on the race.


Also.. I agree it’s not a great price. And I wouldn’t be putting any cash on it. But two five pound free bets winning at 6/1 would at least cover £60 of my cash bet on Delta Work. Whilst covering the biggest danger in principle.

Value for cash betting in my mind is different to how I’ll use the free bets. In fact, anything I fancy properly is cash bets and won’t have even been in the 24 weeks of free bets so far. Other than the occasional inclusion in a multi such as Klassical Dream in an early Yankee.

With 75/1 on offer for Envoi Allen and Samcro to win any race - does that take anyones fancy?

My gut would be Envoi Allen Ballymore which leaves Samcro in....
186/1 Ballymore and JLT
230/1 Ballymore and Arkle
285/1 Ballymore and RSA


Of course, Envoi Allen could end up in the Supreme
288/1 with Samcro in JLT
356/1 with Arkle
441/1 with RSA


Not beyond the realms that Envoi Allen ended up in the Albert Bartlett I suppose and I've done the other 2 so:
356/1 with Samcro JLT
356/1 with Arkle
545/1 with RSA


and you'd get the added security of Samcro not making a novice chaser and winning the Coral Cup ;)
