Does my head in if they close an account cos of this, its their own stupid fault

Like picking up an item priced wrong in a shop and them having to honour it then banning you from the shop cos of their own **** up!! Idiots :highly_amused:

Is it not a bit like thieving though? I wouldn't feel comfortable in placing a bet where part of it was already settled.

Each to their own but I can't see how you could complain if the account was closed as a result.

It’s around 5/1 now for the two doubling up to winat Festival, so 6/1 isn’t much better. You may be right Lobos, as 6/1 to win all three was not ‘special’.
 
I've just seen a special on Sky. Envoi Allen to win the ballymore and any 2021 festival race. Might be of interest to some

Probably a fair price. Can get 6/4 for the Ballymore still and IF he wins that he's not going to be bigger than 4's any race next season

Yeah, he's since won today, and shortened for the Ballymore and likely the 'any race' market next should he win the Ballymore which he would need to for the bet anyway.

I don't personally back these sort of bets anyway, but I think the price is fair

Most people on here aren't old enough to remember bookies before the internet. My first bet was over 50 years ago (Blakeney's Derby) but the change in even the last 30 years is dramatic. Cash out, price boost, even NRNB are recent innovations as are most of the special bets. Until the 1990s the best you could do was the ITV7.

Many people see the game as a war and try for every angle possible. Some go too far. If the bookies retaliate by returning fire or refusing to engage, it's entirely their prerogative.

Far too much today. Punters are blinded by it all and are sucked in accordingly. Keep it simple is the best advice.
 
Personally the battle against the bookies is part of the enjoyment for me. The bookmaker in our town is great fun and he loves the ‘us and them’ attitude

Just topped up on this with last week's free fiver. Still the same price despite Envoi Allen shortening a little
