Related Bets (ideas)

Skelton has said Grey Dawning won't run if the ground goes heavy tomorrow. Could get some good WTAF positions on others, but that kind of test so close to the Festival wouldn't appeal to me. Maybe he knows the stat on Gold Cup runners having run on heavy ground in the season...

It'll be back to Soft tomorrow.

After seeing him mentioned in Novice Hurdle thread, could add one with second with a related Trixie of Kovanis in the Pipe, Doctor Steinberg in the Bartlett and the Deviluno on Saturday.

1-2-3 at Navan

Interesting couple of bets on Kovanis and Doctor Steinberg now!

Amazed Thedeviluno went off 15/2!

As Q says it’s more trip and ground, i’m just not sure 25.5f around Cheltenham on soft ground will see him to best effect.

Happy to be proven wrong and it’s by no means a strong opinion, I just thought that if one horse were to take advantage of any weaknesses it would be Spillane’s Tower, and if beaten in what I assume they are considering to be quite a weak race, they will reassess their Cheltenham target and look to take advantage of his bold jumping from the front in a weak looking Ryainair.

It’s over 100/1 for a reason but only needs to be a small play at the prices.
Let’s see what Skelton says, to me it’s obvious he’d have no chance in a gold cup anyway.

Says he won’t be running in any ryainairs. At least i’ve got a 100/1 ticket if he eventually sees sense 😂 😂

I think he might.
Depends how both races shape up.
Like a fucking lettuce today, horse and trainer.

He's clearly not a GC horse so Ryanair or skip.

….this is likely to look very stupid in a couple of hours but in view of comments on here from @Wayward Lad and @EnvoiAlien i couldn’t help but have a little bit on the related mega-odds double :rolleyes: ;

Workahead 100-1 CH
North Shore 66-1 TH

6,766-1 (place 298-1)

As the season develops I’m coming round to the idea that form lines through Thedeviluno are the strongest we have seen for the turners and Albert Bartlett. This gives an opportunity for some related doubles.

Thedeviluno was well beaten in a bumper last season by DDM, then goes on to beat Skylight hustle before a staying on second behind Docto Steinberg. I’m working on the theory all four improve for a step up in trip and we have DDM and Skylight hustle run in the Turners, Thedeviluno and Doctor Steinberg go for the Albert Bartlett.

Both races look fairly open at the moment with nothing standing out from the pack in the way OPS does for the Supreme.

I’m expecting DDM and Doctor Steinberg to win next week and shorten in their respective markets so keen to take big prices beforehand. The four related doubles have best odds at time of writing of:

DDM/Doctor Steinberg 155/1
DDM/Thedeviluno 356/1
Skylight hustle/Doctor Steinberg 134/1
Skylight hustle/Thedeviluno 314/1

Obvious related double after seeing Leader D'Allier win at Punchestown.

Leader D'Allier (Supreme)
Ballyfad (Turners)

577/1

Pauls potential Tattersalls runner (King Rasko Grey) & Mighty Park.

Apparently Mighty Park already booked his ticket and if King Rasko Grey wins or runs well in the tattersalls he could also.

Could end up in the same race though.

Mighty Park not be Mark Walsh's ride?

337/1
389/1

Paddy already cut KRG from 40s to 25s to win at drf at supreme/turners. I'd want him to win that first. Mighty Park I can't get away from.

Those are the two I have at the top (in my head) at the moment for Willie

If Mullins wins the Tattersalls at the DRF then the winner will go Supreme unless something shines in the Sheila Bourke. The two times he has won the race since it's been 2m and gone Baring Bingham he has still had the Supreme favourite. Tullyhill was Fav after romping home in the Sheila Bourke with Ballyburn going and winning the BB whilst Dysart Dynamo had easily won the Moscow Flyer before joint fav with Con Hill with Tattersalls winner Sir Gerhard stepping up in trip (and also winning).
