Punchestown Festival

I see there's money around for Sharjah, ew maybe? Jury Duty also seen a bit of support, might be a nice speculative ew double, both around 14's

I can't see how he finishes out of the three and, like you say, Getabird won't be getting an easy least tomorrow.

Added a Canadian:

Paloma Blue 9/2
Western Boy 14/1
Jury Duty 16/1
Ballyward 7/1
Road to Respect 2/1

Looks good FM, have you done it ew, or at least added an ew acca?

Was just having a look - Ordinary World has also come in a bit too, Davy on board for de Bromhead

I really, really want to see Douvan put in a superb performance, beating Min in to second.

Super to see Douvan/Min/UDS in the same race.

Unfortunately I don’t see UDS being involved at all in this, I’ve no doubt that Doctor Phoenix would have beaten him. Cheltenham, Fairyhouse and now Punchestown is almost certainly one too far.

Incredible how all the messing around with targets goes out the window when the trainers title is on the line!

Just the 1 race of financial interest for me tomorrow on an interesting card.

Alboum photo 5/1 1pt ew
Iv always liked him hes a real fighter and can pull a race out the bag with sheer determination, hes priced fairly
This is his trip IMO and with a clean round, which isn't a given and needs to be taken into consideration. he'd have every chance.

shattered love 2pts ew 7/1.
She should be somewhere between 7/2 And 4/1 for this Imo. Jumps beautifully travels very well, ticks all the boxes. Very keen on her here. Shes Considerably over priced and has every chance.

And just the one Wednesday. JETZ 14/1 ew in the 3 mile novice He's a solid hardy horse, stays well. Needs holding right up with one late rattle. He will win a big one before long over 3m+ just needs riding accordingly. .

Faugheen stayers hurdle 9/1 ew nrnb.
Can't let him go unbacked on what is likely to be his final start. He's not without a chance. He likes punchestown, the step up may help. If he still has the desire to win, it could be a memorable moment. I'll be wanting him to run well that's for sure. And hope he can do himself proud. There's no way he goes off at 9/1 that's for certain.

I am disappointed that Patrick Mullins hasn't retained the ride. I think he has travelled better for him than anyone else.

4.20 Whiskey Sour @ 20/1
4.55 Bunk Off Early @ 14/1
5.30 Un De Sceaux @ 6/1
6.05 Seeyouinvinnys @ 10/1
6.40 Jury Duty @ 14/1

15:40 Festival Opera @12/1
16:55 Ballyoisin @13/2
19:15 Grand Mogul @18/1

And then will look at Mullins horses at bigger prices for the places - assuming he is throwing as much as possible at any prize money on offer

Just gone with the mug treble of Getabird Douvan and Monalee

Douvan and Monalee double pays 5/1 at the minute. That will do for me.

Fancy Monalee to prove the Flogas and RSA form was true and i don't see Min or UDS getting the better of Douvan if he's on his game.

Backed it three times. Betfair Sportsbook have pushed it out to 11/2 but after a difficult couple of weeks will stick at that.

If it wasn't for the threat of rain it would be a straight win bet. I think he is just a (much) better horse than Getabird. Russell was just wary of him getting up the hill at Cheltenham and couldn't peg the front three back.

Hopefully, Getabird doesn't get handed the ridiculously easy lead he got last time. That proved very little. Vision Des Flos wants a strong pace and Beyond The Law goes forward so tactically the favourite is in trouble.

Even if he wins impressively Paloma Blue will be winning the Arkle next year. Far more scope than the likely opposition.

Must confess to being worried by the lack of support. I see him as around a 5/2 chance. Makes me wonder if he is pitching up off the back of some sort of problem.

According to his column Russell thinks Ben Dundee is his best chance today. Pinch of salt time I think.

Best of luck to all players today, I can't remember the last time I won at Punch and having had my best Chelt/Aintree ever I'm not throwing any back.
Hope you all go through the cards....

I like whiskey sour and jury duty.

1pt ew singles and a double

Design Matters in the 6.05 backed in from 80/1 to as Low as 6/1 in places

Mainly a watching day for me at Punchy, but for interest I've had an ew trixie on Top ten, Sharjah and Jury Duty, 9's 14's and 14's respectively

Was De Bromhead telling it straight? That was a shocking performance. Not the ground, not a hard season. He should be beating Draconian on the bridle.

Would love to know how Draconian goes from a 12 length beating being given 6 pounds by Getabird to that!

Unfortunately I won’t know as betfair nor sky let me watch!

Noel Fehily kept Draconien out the back and let the others try to get Getabird unsettled, which he did. He was pulling hard after the first hurdle and was beaten a long way out, excellent ride from Noel.
