Hi everyone. Brand new member. Have been reading for a few months and really pleased to have been given the opportunity to join. I am very impressed with the quality of this forum. Well done to you all. A few bits and pieces about me. Firstly it is fair to say Horse Racing is a passion. I love both codes but nothing can compare with Cheltenham and it’s pretty much an obsession. Just to illustrate. During quiet times at work I used to get the calculator out and work out how many seconds to Cheltenham and then record the answer in a little book. Many things have impressed me about this forum, but let me just call out a few. Firstly it was a thread started by either Quevega or Istabraq I think giving members a safe place if they were struggling in these difficult times. Total class. Then someone posted something completely inappropriate and it was jumped on immediately and the member removed. Again total class. I have Been at this game for years and still make rookie mistakes like not realising Chatham Street Lad was a novice until I had wasted half a point. But after nearly 25 years of doing this the mistakes are slowly reducing. This forum will definitely help. While I have been lurking until now I have been making silent contributions as a fair number of the specials highlighted brilliantly by eggs have been requested by me. I plan to be an active poster but believe there is room for all ends of the posting spectrum. I couldn’t have Rooster Booster as my name as it has been taken. But good to see old adversaries such as Rhinestone Cowboy and Hardy Eustace ably represented. Rhinestone .... I have an apology.... I backed Pizarro in the bumper but please don’t hold it against me.

Welcome Johnno.:encouragement:
It was Istabraq who set up the thread mate.
I backed Rhinestone that day and the stewards went on forever, and came to the wrong decision obviously:disgust:
Some good horses in that bumper as well.

Welcome Rooster Booster,

Great opening post, will look forward to you getting involved :encouragement:

Thanks for the friendly welcome. It might take me a while to figure out the different symbols and features. Definitely a 10lb claimer

Hi guys, just registered there. Been lurking around for a few weeks. Fantastic site for anyone interested in racing. Big NH fan and the four days of Cheltenham is my highlight of the year. Book the week off and find a high stool and hopefully watch all those antepost bets pay off.

Another new member who has been hiding in the shadows for a while and have finally plucked up the courage to join. Massive horse racing fan, particularly the jumps. The festival is the highlight of the year and the Saturday afterwards is the most depressing day of the year, it's a feeling that I suspect is shared by a lot of people on here. I've benefited hugely from some of the posts on this Forum so hopefully will be able to help others too.

Welcome folks, can tell its nearly Xmas, quite a few having the Dutch Courage the past week. Good to have you on board.

Welcome chaps/chapettes, enjoy, and will look forward to you both getting involved :smug:

Hi folks,

I've been meaning to register for a while and have finally got my arse in gear to do it. I've enjoyed reading the discussions on here and I hope, in between work, raising young kids and renovating a house I'll be able to provide my two pennies worth from time to time.

Cheers

:cheerful: welcome.

Why the name ?

I'm assuming it's after the mare.

Cheers guys, yep after a local area. Try and get to local West Country tracks now and then (in normal times).

Hi all,

A short time lurker here that loved reading topics and conversations and I hope to bring something to the table at least.

First time punting antepost for the Cheltenham festival this year so fingers cross I make a good profit.

Will have a nose around peoples diaries which will probably no doubt be better than mine :joyous:
