PERTEMPS NETWORK FINAL Handicap Hurdle

What did people of Davey’s ride on Dallas Des Pictons? Was that a handicap managing performance?

Came here just to say that myself, seemed to be going fine and then just dropped like a stone. Always something in my mind with Davy & Gordon involved and looks like the bookies thought it too with some cuts to 16s!

Always the plan. Noted in my diary a few times, I can imagine Gordon has a score to settle with the handicapper regarding DDP. A lot of others focusing on his other runners though, so he probably gets missed by many.

Interesting off the back of that run that PP/Betfair have cut him too.

Dunboyne now 33-1 with PP/BF - thought he was looking like the winner til that mistake stopped him.

I wonder if he's okay after the mistake?

That's a wild push out isn't it?

365 offering profit for cashout if anyone wanted to go back in with PP/BF.. bit of a chancy bet though

He didn't look injured, Jack just let him canter home once he knew the game was up.

I'm already on without cash-out but that is a stand-out price.

Still in the lap of the gods whether he scrapes in - but I wouldn't have thought they will drop him for that.

Good run by Enjoy D'Allen - next stop Aintree:cheerful:

After the mistake Dunboyne was still being ridden and then was suddenly heavily pulled by Jack, thought he was pulling him up but perhaps he ran out of room by the rail? As next time Dunboyne was in shot he was being ridden again, but then was eased home. Can anyone clarify?
Think the price adjustments have been a bit strange here, as (if the horse is ok) Dunboyne made a major mistake when coming to run his race, and then appeared to be hampered badly, so had legitimate excuses, whereas Dallas Des Pictons just emptied.
Can't believe I missed the 33s!!
and I know it's probably irrelevant as both horses were nursed home but Dunboyne actually finished ahead of DDP :emmersed:

I missed the 2.55 at sandown, how did Born Patriot run with a view to this? He’s one I’ve had an eye on for this since he qualified at Cheltenham.

I watched the race because I got my eye on this horse too, tough to assess though, I don't know if the jockey wasn't trying or the horse ran a bad race or not, was going to ask other people's views on it about Born Patriot.

I wasn't too sure what to make of Born Patriot as was one I was very keen on for pertemps. I think he was trying due to the nudging along given fairly early in the race and the fact he came in from a double figure price yesterday night. That being said jockey was quick to stop trying when he knew the chance was blown. That coupled with the fact that if he looses a few lbs from that run its touch and go for getting in.

Personally I managed to cash my bet at the end for full stake and will revaluate as he has been nudged out in price anyway at least so gives the opportunity to mull it over!

I backed him today and thought he was trying but not good enough. Was a 100k pot today so made sense for them to go for it over pertemps given mark but imo he's proven himself not good enough for either unfortunately

Very disappointing from BP yesterday. I was hoping an eye catching run as he's 135 already which will get him in this year. I'd imagine they won't drop him anything?
Its got Mrs Milner written all over it.......

I'll happily eat humble pie and tip my hat to you Splinter if the following prediction is incorrect, but I think Wakool will smash Brorson into next week. :devilish:

Hmmmm, quite disappointed with them both there….maybe they bumped into a Charles Byrnes special :uncomfortableness:

Absolutely gutted Wakool hasn't won there. He'll get into the final and ran with credit tho.

Oh Wakool smashed the fav which I wasn't really doubting, just ran into one

Wakool jockey didn’t want to win there it seemed to me, should go up a few lbs still and be safe to get in.
