October ‘25 Yankee

Sortudo
Saw a couple mention him as a potential 2 miler, but being by Authorized you'd have to think he'll be a staying type eventually. They've also ridden him like he's plenty of stamina too.

I've got involved in him for the Bartlett as he is in my list of horses to follow in the diary section.
He was quite keen in his bumpers which led to him being prominently ridden in the majority of his races. He showed a nice cruising speed in his Fairyhouse win too.

I’ve backed him for the Supreme. A fast paced end to end 2m would suit him well I reckon. I couldn’t back him for the Turners personally. He doesn’t have the tools for what I want in that race at all.

He’d be effective racing from the front in 2m races and running the finish out of more speedy types or if he learns to settle better 3m would come into the equation for me too but 20/1 isn’t very inviting.

Lossiemouth (Mares Hurdle) surely has to go in one Yankee? Short price now but will go off long odds on in March. No harm in having a shorty in a Yankee either.

….Nicholls mentioning Champion Chase for Kalif de Berlais in his stable tour, bits of 16-1 and plenty of 14-1 available.

25s with B365 if that's anymore inviting.

Think it's probably fair enough to be honest. Despite everything I said about not being a race I like to get involved in antepost this far out. Not much else too exciting out there.

Gameofinches in the BANC another with a strangely similar profile that I don't hate. Also ran in the Champion Bumper for Willie and is seen as more a stayer. Talk of him going straight over fences, as Fact to File recently did before winning this. 33s is fair enough like given who he's with.

Gameofinches is very interesting. He took the same unorthodox path with both the great Florida Pearl (Willies best ever horse IMO) and Fact To File. Who's to say he can't make it a hat trick. Clearly he knows the type that can make the jump.

What about a sporting bet on the horse that beat him in a point to point who is 3 times the price - albeit he is now with Kim Bailey?

I’ve taken it alright, thanks for the heads up Benjy, if he drops the bit & settles over hurdles I can see him being very effective over 3m too, plenty of stamina in the book.

I’ve actually got 4 backed now for the Albert Bartlett. Probably need my head testing but just liked the profile of a few especially at bigger prices. I’ll try post them & some reasoning in the Novice Hurdle thread tonight.
