October ‘24 ‘Roger Diamond Geezer Hunter’ Yankee

JdV was backed by plenty on here last year around this time.

We've had Ferny Hollow (albeit he disappointed until a couple of weeks before the bumper), Sir Gerhard and Envoi Allen all up early as well.

4 of the last 6 up on here early, Facile Vega was put up before he was named IIRC and plenty got on him towards the end of November. Only A Dream To Share who I don't think anyone mentioned previously Xmas. One of the easiest ones historically to get the shortlist on early.

Agree. The race has been a proper cash machine over recent years.

This is an excellent debate lads. I am in the willie mullins camp for the bumper with kopek des bordes

Id be cashing that out
Willies Stable Tour:
Kopek Des Bordes
"He was impressive in the George Mernagh Tattersalls Bumper and George would have been proud of this fellow. He's every inch a chaser, a fine big horse, and he'll go novice hurdling this year"

I expect a few were put up early
Anyway, personally I would be looking at other races this early, but each to their own

Hi ofthebridle thank you very much for that. I have no idea how i missed that but it does explain why I have no cashout anymore

….2nd Nov and I haven’t noticed MOM posting these last few days so hope all is well with him.

Anybody fancy reading through the thread and posting Octobers selections today?

Dineen saying Classical Creek is a cert with the price reflecting that :biggrin-new:

I don’t want to speak out of turn but Is it time we addressed the elephant in the room and maybe let someone else do it regularly instead or designate someone different at the start of the month unless MOM checks in and states he’s wanting to do it that month?

….its an awkward one given MoM has said he’d be here to make the selections this month.

i did suggest at the start of the season we should try and get the bet up timeously ( by the 1st of each month).

its the FJs bet, so happy to take your steer.

I could have a good look through the thread in the morning
and pick out 4 popular ones, if you need Eggs?
Unfortunately not got time today

Romeo coolio is still a fair price after his win today and Gordy confirming the supreme a target.

Gerri Colombe drift is probably worth taking advantage of.

20s didn’t last long though

That was a seriously flawed round of jumping though. Many a mistake and seemed to be slow over most others. 20/1 is a fair price, but I’m not sure he’ll improve the few lbs he needs to.

….thats ideal. If MoM doesn’t appear today to post then it’d be great if you can take responsibility tomorrow morning.

No worries, let me know in the morning?if you need me

…..thanks for volunteering Carnage at Taunton, the floor is yours.

Don’t feel restricted, there’s been plenty of activity in the diary’s and stable tours you’ll be aware of and, of course, there’s your own fancies to consider.

May the force be with you.

Early bird this morning

hopefully catch some worms!!
Cheers

Well that was fun!!!!
Bloody hell my heads been spinning!!
So many interesting and well thought out posts on this thread and others, as one would expect from this forum.

Wanted to try and get horses that had favourable mentions and had already ran and impressed myself and others on here, that are double figure prices for an each way Yankee.Plus being confident of their target for March.
So….
Have come up with three that I think fit my approach and another that although has not ran yet this season, has had good mentions and I’m fairly confident of the target race.

So these are the picks

1. Romeo Coolio Supreme
2. Found A Fifty. Ryanair
3. In The Pocket. Arkle
4. Kargese. Mares Hurdle

Best price that I can see on oddschecker that I can see for the four fold is with Betuk @ 35,342/1
Next best 365 @ 25,739/1

Here’s hoping we have four juicy worms!!

And just wanted to say …..An honour to have done a Yankee for the forum , especially one named after such a legend.
