Novice Chasers 2027

Makes sense as Willie normally starts them out over 2 doesn't he and only steps them up if they get beat or clearly looking like a step up will bring out more improvement. Price looks ok but he'll have a few others with the Arkle as a potential target.
Anzadam has had a small haircut today too. A few Mullins horses have had a bit of movement today. Doesn't he start some of his staying chasers over the intermediate?

In the article i read, Casey bigs up He's on Fire and Mighty Park as well. I'd imagine they start over further.

Casey mentioned the Arkle for KRG after the festival aswell.

With no 2.5 I think Arkle will be for him.

Hope we’ll have some clarity soon. I think he’s a festival horse, but not sure where he’ll go. Personally, I feel he’ll be trained as a champion hurdle horse

Could be famous last words but I'd be surprised if KRG cuts the mustard in either of the 2m or 3m novice chases this year. I think he'll end up being a bit tripless

For Willie's best staying novices you want to keep an eye on the following races;
Beginners Chase @ Navan 15th November 2m4f
Beginners Chase @ Punchestown 21st November 2m2f
Beginners Chase @ Naas 14th December 2m4f

So what do we think

Magnifico Conti - Arkle?
Mighty Park - Arkle?
KRG - Arkle?

He’s on Fire - Brown Advisory?
Fou De Toi - BA / NH Chase?
Sortudo, Kowaboomga, Sober Glory, Gameofinches, etc, - Brown Advisory?

Sober Glory is with Hobbs chief but i think he is Arkle bound. I was thinking about Gameofinches the other day. He was the enigma horse this time last year, never to be seen. Fou De Toi has been super impressive so far but been out very early again. He has a few of these at the minute.

Yeah, sorry I meant ‘Sober’ not ‘Sober Glory’.

Now that he has been confirmed by Casey as going chasing this season, you would think he would be the most likely to stay at 2m and therefore Arkle bound, verses He’s on Fire and Mighty Park…..and maybe also KRG, who could go over a trip

Anzadam’s RPR hurdle rating puts him above OPS and he’s the same age, so what’s not to like…..

Just got to jump well now and the dreams alive😎

I havent heard anything regarding Gameofinches for quite a while now. Has there been any update for him to be in the betting for the BANC?

‘Bossman Jack is a very good horse and obviously won a Grade 1 over hurdles at Aintree at the backend of last year. He didn’t start hurdling until November so was under no pressure early season and obviously came good at the end of season. He is obviously very smart, and we will go chasing. We’ll start him over two and a half miles and three miles wouldn’t be a problem but I wouldn’t be rushing to get there.’

‘Kabral Du Mathan goes novice chasing. He was a good hurdler from last year and didn’t quite see out the trip in the Stayers’ Hurdle but was very good in the Relkeel over Christmas. He will go over two miles over fences, and I hope he would be an Arkle type of horse. I trust him as a two-miler over fences and obviously over hurdles he was a two and a half miler, but I think we can drop him back over fences.’

If Fou De Toi is NH chase bound then coming out early is a positive from a stats point of view. Or at least it used to be - remains to be seen how the changes pan out.

Still 50/1 available with Flutter. Think too many people been burned on the horse before to get involved again. He has still done more over hurdles than the majority of horses shorter in the betting.

Was the case pre change of conditions, I don’t think the current conditions have been running long enough for there to be any strong trends…
