November ‘24 Yankee

Gaelic for champion chase now looks solid enough at 4-1 with the news he's likely to be kept at shorter and scratched from KG.
Sounds like El Fab is going down the ryanair route, so he's willies main dart with energumene the romantic option.
His form is solid enough also.

A solid Willie win Yankee could be Gaelic Warrior, Champion Chase, El Fabiolo, Ryanair, and Galopin for the Gold Cup with one other?

Not great prices but a win only bet? If Lossiemouth delivers on Sunday then add her to the bet for the Champion Hurdle.

I'd go as far as saying El Fabiolo has no chance in the Ryanair. I like the other two though.

I'd add Dancing City (RSA) and Fact To File (Ryanair), acknowledging that Fact To File is risky but feeling like approx 16/1 gives the chance of a proper bumper payout from 4 on the day favourites :encouragement:

Like two, but couldn't be having El Fabiolo at the moment.

I like the “solid” idea. Fairly certain on target and a fair chance they’re the best horse in the race. My suggestion would be:

- Galopin Des Champs (GC): 4-1
- Dinoblue (MC): 5-1
- Gaelic Warrior (QMCC): 4-1
- Dancing City (BANC): 10-1

I like that. And nothing that happens this weekend should contract those prices either. Sunday is 1 December so I assume the Yankee will be selected after Sunday's racing?

I’d thrown in the triumph winner and make it a Super Willie Yankee :applouse:

He who dares…….

Based of last year Gaelic Warrior could end up in the stayers :biggrin-new:

Jokingly aside solid selections imo

I quiet like that as well
Is their a concern though that three of those have yet to be seen and as far as I know have no entries?

Yes, tend to agree. Just following Willie's thoughts at the moment on that one.

Think it's more about his set back that's putting people off as opposed to Willies Ryanair comments

Gave me the shivers reading this…….brought it all back …..’gonna stay over hurdles this season before chasing next year, see him as a stayer’ …..as a result fav for the Stayers Hurdle at the beginning of the year and then won the chase for the fastest novices in the land !:boxing:

Thinking about it a bit more……how solid actually are they?
GDC , yep absolutely
Dinoblue, not been seen and could not win it last time
Dancing City, not been seen jumping a fence yet
GW, Not been seen in senior company,Will he run as he did in the Arkle or the race before that?
Do the current prices reflect that?
Maybe DC at 10, but not so sure the others?
Anyway, just some thoughts.

Dinoblue was given a poor ride last year in conditions which didn't suit and when there was a suspicious amount of support for Limerick Lace. LL now being targeted for the National apparently. 5/1 is, in my opinion, the best price of any horse presently.

Gaelic Warrior could be spun the other way. His best RPR is the same as Jonbon's despite never having raced in open company yet. And that RPR is 3lb better than Jonbon's best at Cheltenham, despite Jonbon having had four goes.

Dancing City proved time and time again that he was the class staying hurdler of last year. Admittedly he was defeated at Cheltenham, but I'm astonished he's 10-1 given his record last year and who his trainer is. He's not jumped a fence in public yet, which is why you need the 10-1. He's the riskiest selection.

OK thanks BC, much appreciated.
I need to do a Paddys run tomorrow so will head via Corals too...

Enjoyed my journey to London Bridge today, shame Paddy Power is closed for refurbishment.
Bromley tomorrow the Plan B....

Fair points
I am just pointing out reasons why some might not be that solid
GW eg is for me one of the most talented NHC horses in training, possibly the most.
But he has won one of his last three runs, pne of which was very good and one was bloody awful.
Anyway, just wanted to share my thoughts.
I will probably do the bet anyway if it’s chosen, I ain’t saying it’s a bad one at all.
