National Hunt Chase (4 miler) 2019

Wow going through card some achievement! I would still be on Guinness celebrating from last March :very_drunk:

Going for the horse that fell behind Ballyward the last time because of faller stats?

I had already picked out Discorama ante posts before reading the Mullins stats about fallers if I’m honest. I listened to that race live you’re referring too which Ballyward won and it sounded a very confident performance but it also sounded like Discorama was also ready to pounce before falling. I’m not that overly confident with any of the horses in a 4 mile chase with amateur riders but before reading the Mullins stats on fallers was going to involve Ballyward in a few accumulators but I don’t think it’s worth the risk at 3/1 (5/1 previously). Do you think Ballyward is bomb proof?

No, The mares hurdle, the Bumper and The Foxhunters.

I had 20 last year.
Losers, 1) Festival Handicap (2nd), Mares, bloody Apples Jade, National Hunt Chase (LOL), Novice Handicap Chase (2nd and 3rd), Coral Cup (3rd), Fred Winter, Bumper and Albert Bartlett, noticed OK Corral was second.....LOL.... Went through the card on Thursday and almost did the same Friday. As for where I am, sadly, still in my flat, but a lot richer!!!

Wow just wow, ain't ever heard of such skill in picking festival winners.......chapeau sir!

Forgive me for being sceptical, but it would have far more credence if you posted your selections before the festival. I mean, anyone can come on to a forum and claim to have had 40 winners from 56 races.

As Scooby says, post your bets and you'll get the kudos you deserve if you replicate it again this year.

Best of luck.

Going almost through the card on Friday last year would have required time travel imo.

Looks like someone’s taken the knob joke too far

I am not sure what I have done to upset everyone, I posted one message and here we are!. I bet differently to a lot of u folks, I really enjoy this site, part of my good luck relates to this site. I think anyone who has 33s on a 3/1 fav is a Cheltenham hero. I just do it differently. I can honestly say that only eight of my fav picks won last year, hence why I am not in the west indies. You guys start early, so it is very difficult to get involved. And finally, common champagne classic. Has anyone ever thought about having a fat jockey meet up at our equivalent to Mecca. Sure u guys did, but just a thought. Av a good evening.

Would you not be worried that OK Corral races very keenly. I'd be concerned that he won't stay if I was holding any tickets. As I'm not, good luck to all, although I'll be cheering on Ballyward & The Disco.

No
The races this year have been slow gallops
The Bartlett gives me the confidence as it should have won and looked a strong stayer

I'm not upset Ziggy but surely you can understand people questioning you on 20 winners two years on the bounce. If you get 2 or 3 handicap winners your having a good week, and handicaps make up 10 of the 28 races.

I think we've been here before, not sure if it was yourself or someone else?

I have a question though, how many different horses do you back per race? I suspect it's not 1 per race given your wins/race strike rate.

I can honestly say that I am surprised, although as I have already said, u good folk start early and get mind blowing prices, something I can only dream of. I do it differently and I like winners, not so much the price. Having said that, I have the likes of honeysuckle at 25/1 an al dancer at 12s, but it is nothing compared to u. I know you can't look back at previous posts, but I have given my ideas on betting strategies, I can't do any more. Don't know about u but my pub friends are getting peed off with me, so lets all agree that we all have our ways of picking a winner and just enjoy the frigging festival. Can't wait, wish it was this Tuesday. Good luck to all and more importantly, ok corral....

You can. Post up in advance and/or on the day. I wish you luck Ziggy but anyone saying they had 20 winners two years on the bounce is going to attract attention, both good and bad, because that's beyond phenomenal. I am far from an expert in human psychology, but being complimentary, then vague, then wishing everyone luck sounds like it's rubbish, even more so when you said in last year it was 19 & 17, and now its 20 & 20. Do you round up to the nearest 10 by any chance?

Wow, I have explained myself, Tbh, I had 20 last year and 19 the year before, for some reason and I have told many a person, I thought I had 21 last year, but looking back, it was 20. I like winners and most people on here like getting an amazing price and I respect that, strangely enough I like that as well, but I start Cheltenham in January and accept the reduced odds. My formula works, it took me a long time to work it out and it is falable, this is horseracing and I am not an expert, I love this festival and I am sure, like most of u, spend to much time on the dam thing. We all have different methods, so say no more. As for wishing people luck, well I mean it, if people want to read something into this, then sod it, I don't care, just enjoy the best week of the year, I will and I reiterate, good luck to all, including me.

You're off your nut.

If you went through the card on the Friday last year then you had both winners and amazing prices.

Let’s get back to the race - I am happy to discuss other stuff on an aftertiming thread
