National Hunt Chase (4 miler) 2018

Does anyone here ever go to racecourses ?

I go 5/6 times a month and it's incredible how you can stand in a ring of 20 bookies and they will all have the same prices, this in a cold wet windy winters day at Plumpton or Wincanton or Ludlow.
They all plug their boards into Betfair and the machine sets the price, no variation, just dull....

Lucky enough to have a relative who owns four horses so go a fair bit.

Must admit to doing all my bets online the night before though. Can't stand not getting BOG from the on course bookmaker or backing something which was double the price at 5pm the day before!

Presenting Percy, with 365 - 9/2 1/4 the odds - BOG.

If he is out of the frame in this race, I will be absolutely STUNNED!!!!!!!!!!

I am not sure how much I want to 'tie-up' now - but PP can't miss if going here surely

He is going in loads of doubles at that price for me.

I'm not sure what price I was expecting but he's got hardly any question marks at all. Jockey being one, but absolutely no way they won't be able to attract someone decent!!!

Who rode Mall Dini last season at the festival.....

money for Elegant Escape. 10s with Stan James now. Bugger, I was just about to top-up@20s

Wouldn't be my first pick but happy enough if that was the case.

Was anything mentioned on the line with Davy about the horse?

Been matched at 8s on the exchange, still 20s in a place and 16s with BV, be surprised if he doesn't run here now

Are PP going nrnb? Presenting Percy cut to 3/1 with them for this race.

Atrocious price. I'd expect him to be bigger on the day if he lined up

Last 10 favs have been these prices:

2017 - 4/1f - A Genie In Abottle - 5th
2016 - 5/1f - Southfield Royale - 4th
2015 - 7/2f - Very Wood - 10th
2014 - 3/1f - Foxrock - 9th
2013 - 9/4f - Back In Focus - 1st
2012 - 5/1f - Teaforthree - 1st
2011 - 5/1f - Chicago Grey - 1st
2010 - 6/1f - Mobaasher - 5th
2009 - 4/1f - Can't Buy Time - 4th
2008 - 9/2f - Ornais - 5th

The 9/2 NRNB now looks like it'll be the SP on the day to me. If I was forced to guess.

I think the SP will be shorter, probably closer to the price of Back in Focus, should Presenting Percy turn up here.

Still hard to know what the opposition will be at this stage. I'm hoping Elegant Escape, Impulsive Star, Fagan and Presenting Percy will be my 4 :devilish:

True we don't, but looking through those at the head of the market it doesn't look too be the deepest of renewals.

Yeah I agree.

If he is 9/2 I'd consider that a fantastic price anyway... I hope he is a big price.

To be fair, the announcement of a jockey could knock at least 2 pts off!

Percy fav for RSA , cant see him coming here at all. His super jumping his is strong suite , more so than his stamina , not that he lacking in that department either. You only need to look at the likely line up in RSA ,either fell or jump to slowly on evidence seen.Just feel Percy will put them all to the sword with his jumping , and one of the bets of the festival for me.

You may well be right TB but I'd almost see him as a penalty kick if he came here, providing he got a decent jockey booking. I wouldn't be anywhere near as confident in the RSA

Which do you think is an easier race to win?

Monalee for me is easily better than any horse in this race... at 5/1 RSA and 9/2 NH Chase - NRNB I trhink one is much easier to win than the other.
