National Hunt Challenge Cup Amateur Riders' Novices' Chase

What other options has CC got if he don’t go here? Is he still able to run RSA, JLT? Surely only options would be here, Ryanair or GC? Or am I missing something?

It’s a novices Chase

They're talking about the Drinmore for Champagne Classic so down in distance rather than up. Not impossible that he ends up here but not a given until Eddie O'Leary pronounces judgement.

GE mentioned Drinmore for CC but in same stable tour also said he may well be one for the NH chase so I wouldn't read too much into him dropping in trip. Giggingstown will have 2 or 3 in the Drinmore as prize money is very good and it fits nicely in the programme as a warm up/experience for the spring festivals.

what races could CC be entered in? having an argument with a mate on what races it is eligible for.

He could be entered in any of the novice chases - Arkle (wont go here) JLT, RSA, National Hunt chase or even any of the non novice chases but again extremely unlikely or he could go back over hurdles but the only races I think he would be expected in are the novice chases

He could run in everything apart from mares races, foxhunters, novice hurdles and 4 year old races.....

I wouldn't be reading anything into the Drinmore or the trip. Despite the 2m4 distance, it's a perfect race during the season for all trips. There's been plenty of NHC types in Rathvinden, Discorama and Cause of Causes. It's been a stepping stone for the RSA with Delta Work, Don Cossack, No More Heroes, Alpha des Obeaux. And as you'd expect JLT runners in Valseur Lido, Sub Leuitenant and Apache Stronghold and you even had Le Richebourg who would have been Arkle bound in last years renewal.

Gigginstown (and Elliott) will throw at least a couple in the race (3, 2, 4, 3, 4 runners in the last 5 renewals). No doubt Champagne Classic will be joined by at least one of Battleoverdoyen, Samcro and co. What happens in the race itself may alter the directions each horse take but the entry at least for me wouldn't mean a thing.

I think Champagne Classic will almost certainly end up in this race. That said it's Gigginstown who have history for forcing a trainers hand with this race and as always have a host of horses across the novice chases. So any backers really should have that in the back of their mind if aiming the Gigginstown horses at specific races. If all of Battleoverdoyen, Samcro, Champagne Classic, Dallas des Pictons, Eclair de Beafeu fulfill the potential / early promise then it'll likely get very uncertain on targets as much as Elliott is generally as upfront as can be. Imagine if they had Commander of Fleet and Defi Bleu in there who would have been right up there as novice chasers and then you have lesser horses like Dortmund Park.

Bugger... looks like may have to introduce CC into a trixie somewhere instead

CC has surprised us all reading messages , he probably surprised connections as well with his jumping . He looks bomb proof at the moment to turn up here , however if he keeps winning that may change especially if one or two of the others fail.
Thought Power gave him a real educational ride , he does look the business this horse , nice to see him getting two quick races in also.

I see betfair have him at 10/1 , bit of a over reaction i feel. Im happy with my 20s and he could be very short comes March.

Not really, given his trainer has claimed this is the race for him. Also been out twice this season and won pretty much as he liked both times. I'd say there are worse 10/1 shots around that we haven't even seen this season yet.

Added Ravenhill for this. Not listed for the race but available at 37/1 with Hills for the boost.

GE highlighted this race as a likely target for him in the stable tour. he ran a really good race over an inadequate trip in the Galway Plate and a fine race to be 2nd in the Kerry National. Think this will be absolutely tailor made for him and was surprised to get such a big price. Would have been happy with 25/1 tbh.

Would love this to happen, a couple of friends from where i'm from are in the syndicate.Elliot has done some job with him so far. Doubt he's good enough personally.
