Mares Novice Hurdle

Excellent.....I was starting to think we'd never see her.

Good win yesterday from the illusive Limini. Myska just threw in a stinker.

If Limini can brush up her jumping skills, she looks another one to chalk up for WPM..

only catching up with her now

She looks to have an engine but really needs to improve her hurdling - looks an accident waiting to happen at every hurdle.

I got a nice bet on the 5/2 Hills were offering for WPM to win this race and I think I'll be laying her before the off.

They will just school and school the death out of Limini re her jumping, getting her out for a run was what they wanted and she could'nt do anymore than she was asked, ruby will be up top come the fest aswell

Limini still a bit of filling out to do...

Looks like I was wrong about Myska and now missed the value on Limini. :grumpy:

Well done to the guys that got a nice price. :encouragement:

Bloody Mary runs tomorrow.

whats the scoop on this one? I've heard the name whispered but don't know too much about it.

...I dont think anyone does.

Bit in RP

Before being bought by JP McManus (I wonder how much he paid?), Bloody Mary spent most of her life winning bumper races at racecourses I bet you haven't heard of - I know I hadn't; places like Vire and Morlaix, Senonnes-Pouance and Le Lion-D'Angers.

Then, last September, Bloody Mary made a winning debut over hurdles at Auteuil and Nicky Henderson's yard beckoned. If you are impressed by form figures that read 111111 then Bloody Mary's the one for you.

Will they soon read 1111111? It would be nice to get Adrien Fouassier's opinion, even though Fou means mad, because he has ridden both Bloody Mary and Lou Vert.

Fouassier won an all-weather Flat race on Lou Vert at another racecourse I've never heard of - Pornichet-la Baule - before finishing third in a maiden hurdle at Auteuil. Now Lou Vert is with Paul Nicholls. Willie Mullins hasn't got a runner so Henderson or Nicholls could win this one.

That Auteuil hurdle win was a decent pot I think, 40k or so, and I'm sure I read the third has since gone on and won a similar prize

Bloody Mary wins but she is only a pony ...

Wins but pretty much all out to beat a penalised horse though the pair pulled well clear.
That performance probably falls in the 'satisfactory' catagory...

will be one of smallest horses at Cheltenham if she makes it. I dont think Limini backers need stress too much.

Lydia

Meanwhile, her stablemate Limini shortened as favourite - no better than Evens now - after cruising through her latest start to an 11-length success.

Admittedly, the ground at Fairyhouse that day was described variously as "bottomless" and "a gluepot", but she jumped - at best - carefully and - at worst - terribly.

Her appreciable Flat-racing experience will stand her in good stead for the Festival and she might well be better suited to sounder surface, but she'd been deliberate at her hurdles on a sounder surface at Punchestown also, back in May.

Clearly, the number-one candidate from a yard as strong in mares as is that of Mullins demands respect but the fact is Limini must improve to match the already established form of the progressive Smart Talk, who took on more experienced rivals and beat then at Doncaster.

Smart Talk booked her place at the Festival when winning a Grade Two contest at Doncaster in January.

"At the moment we're guiding to the mares' only novice race unless anything happens to Annie Power," said the North Yorkshire trainer.

"We'll probably keep her to the novice race, I would think, as she's second favourite for that.

"She's actually put four kilos of weight on since she ran. She's a big, gorgeous filly. She's a monster.

"Unless something happens to Annie Power I'd imagine that's where we'll end up."

Steve Massey, racing manager for the owning syndicate the Supreme Horse Racing Cub, said: "She disappointed the other day, but was found to be coughing immediately after the race.

"We still have nearly six weeks until Cheltenham, so we should be fine and the plan is still to go there.

"She's been entered in the Neptune and the Albert Bartlett, where she'd get a handy allowance from the boys, but she'll more than likely run in the new mares' novice. We're just keeping our options open.

"It's a dream to have a runner at Cheltenham, so we're not getting carried away about winning at this stage.

"At the end of the day there are only seven winners out of around 150 horses that run each day, so you have to be realistic.

"Having said that, we still think Myska is a very good mare and we know she's a lot better than her last run."

Myska is a 12-1 shot with Coral for the mares' novice hurdle, a race for which stable companion Limini is the even-money favourite.

:mad:I thought she was a definite for the novice.
