Mares Novice Hurdle 2019

That was impressive from Epatante, she did it very easily Geraghty didn't have to move a muscle. She's too short for me now however on what she's beat. I've gone in again on her stablemate Daphne Du Clos e/w at a boosted 22/1 with Hills. I was disappointed last time out but realistically she was always going to need the blowout after almost 2 years off the racecourse.

The form of that race has worked out well with the 2nd & 4th winning since. A promising run in the Dovecote tomorrow would be nice, ideally a good 2nd behind Angels Breath :highly_amused:
 
Not sure what Epatante has beaten there
But she certainly did it in impressive fashion
Looks like she will appreciate a stronger pace which she is sure to get at Cheltenham
I think she will be a clear fav on the day
 
One of those I was beginning to write off during the mid season lull but pleasantly surprised to be on the fav for this race now at a decent price. Hasn't beaten much to date, but she's obviously held in high regard at home and goes with a live chance. Incidentally one of the 40 to follow in Mark Howard's book and I remember Billy was keen on her earlier in the season
 
Epatante is clearly talented but just reminds me of some of henderson's previous mares novices.
Looks a bit girly and weak and I think you need to be more tom boyish and business like in this race.
A bit like the bartlett, but for girls.
I've had a decent bet on Honeysuckle @ 7/2 and I'm not overly concerned, although pricewise, because he's got another run in to her then the price I took or bigger could well be available on the day, we'll see.
But if the race was today I'd bang the money on Honeysuckle all day.

Angels Breath should give his Festival prospects a boost with victory in the Sky Bet Dovecote Novices Hurdle, but it will surprise no one at Seven Barrows if the highly rated mare Daphne Du Clos runs a big race. A smart bumper performer until injury intervened two years ago, she was a tad disappointing at Huntingdon on her only outing since a month ago. However, she has pleased in her recent work, and could be one to reward an each-way interest at a decent price.
 
Very impressed with Epatante , more to come in better race looking at that . Honeysuckle has the better form against the potential of Epatante. I am all over Hendersons Epatante and she'll do me.

Wouldn’t say I was really impressed with epatante, pulled hard most of the way round. Seemed to settle abit more when they upped it a few gears which will help at Cheltenham. Easy winner but again not sure what she beat there although did seem to barely come out of 2nd gear

Definitely an open race this year
 
I can't see me getting ahead in this race. 3 horses I can't cashout or meaningfully lay off.

Took a much too literal stance when Mullins said it would be the target for Relegate despite it being painfully obvious she'd need further.

Have Daphine Du Clos (any race) that may look a bit more useful today although it's strange when I don't want her to win.

Also a win only on Chante Neige (Have cashed out the majority though)


Can let Epatante and Honeysuckle win at their prices now though I think and just not go chasing it in this race.
 
I’m glad it’s a more open race this year as the last 2 years have been predictable and a non event betting wise. It’s always nice to a superstar emerge but if WM continued to dominate with his assembly line of Super Mares this race would start to become boring. At least this year there are more questions marks than previous
 
Don't look like we will get a run for our money on Allez Dance. Betfair go 40/1 about her!

Rare to see Betfair sticking their neck out.... I’m restricted but I reckon anyone try’s and gets a tenner on they will cut it!!

60s on the exchanges with nothing to lay so does look unlikely
 
No love for the 145 rated. Rock solid. Posh Trish.

Brushed indefatigable aside giving her 5 pounds, who gave lady buttons life and death. The highest rated mare in the field by some way. She'll be very hard to pass and even harder to stay infront of up the hill.
if indeed anything manages to get to her.
 
Over 2miles Scooby i'd imagine Henry will want to ride Honeysuckle positively as well given he thinks she'd be better over further.

Might set it up nicely for something coming from behind..

She'll be very hard to beat. She has superior form to honeysuckle and epetante. A superior rating to both. And you'll likely see what Paul has to say about her at the preview evenings. He's very sweet on her. And rightly so.

The likes of epatante has pace. Is she good enough to cruise up to posh Trish. And is she good enough to get past her and stay past. We won't have a clue until the day as she's beaten trees. But she'll have to have a hell of alot under the bonnet.

I quietly like it Scooby. The issue i have is when Irish mares head over the water for any race, not just this, they seem to laugh at the English. Is the 145 she has achieved as rock solid as it sounds?

If so, she should have an entry in the Ballymore over a trip that would suit her much better as Nichols has said "she stays all day".
