Mares Novice Hurdle 2018

Not that iv seen but id be sure she booked her place. The eventual 2nd was a fair sort. And the faller is a nice horse. Would she have won I don't know she was only just being produced and ainchea would beat most if not all of those in the mares novice hurdle betting imo.

Thanks.

The only part quite I heard was 'that was more like a 5f sprint'.

I don't think BG had got serious with her and to my uneducated eye I think she would of won.

I agree I think she booked her place.

Big form boost for Laurina today IMO, Allertrix won, what looked like a competitive handicap and Laurina didn't even come off the bridle beating her, and done so by 11 lengths.

She's very exciting for me, potentially the new Annie Power, that's how highly I think of her from her limited runs to date.

To be fair she only won of 116. So it's not really in context to a grade 1 however like you said laurina looked to have bundles in hand in the conditions.

A long long way to go for laurina to get anywhere near the likes of annie power. She's beat nothing of any note yet.

Massively long way to go to get to the heights of Annie Power, but I'm hoping to get a decent quote before the festival for Laurina for next years Mares' Hurdle. I think she'll push Apples Jade aside, or indeed AJ may well go for a different race anyway next season, it's a long way off of course, but Laurina will be the new star mare for WPM..

Let's see her get a win at the festival in the novice race first before we think she can beat multiple grade 1 winner Apple's Jade :p

Mullins will have two or three more star mares this time next year, but I would be amazed if any will PUSH AJ aside.......

Laurina has a long way to match Apples Jade, and next year we might be saying the same thing about Salsaretta, but I think this shows that the mares novice isn’t a terrible idea

Let's see her win this race, then try and beat Apple's Jade the year after before we even start contemplating the notion of bringing Annie Power comparisons into the mix ;):devilish:

Laurina most impressive winner of the day.

That said, I think she is now much too short to back for this. Difficult to know what she actually achieved beyond the actual style with the only real opposition bombing out. She also has a very rounded action which would suggest soft ground or even worse would be her ideal, maybe even a necessity. We all know that's unlikely in March. It's guesswork whether she will get away with it in a much better race.

Well done to all those who took a punt at the big prices.

Sadly, for her ante-post backers, it looked to me as if Maria's Benefit might have had one race too many. If she struggled to dominate a handful of rivals (with an easy lead) it is going to be massive task to do similar in March. Perhaps better ground might be a plus?

I agree the likely better ground in March will be an unknown.. but I disagree with you about this Mare having a rounded action.. to me she looks like she'd appreciate better ground. I didnt think she was hitting the ground hard, looked more of daisy cutter skimming the top.

I am genuinely gutted about not getting any fancy prices.. this looks to be one of the festival bankers to me now.

Me two so you bound to lose one or two but most are looking good so far. ;)

We all had the fancy prices about Salsaretta instead :(

And me.
I should have took the 9/1 laurina nrnb as kindly advised by others on here. But I find it hard after turning down 16/1.
Poor judgement on my part

Friend of mine text me today saying "have you seen the ATR thing on Laurina and Limini?"

I probed, apprently they won the same race in the exact same time and have been given the exact same rating.

My friend considered that enough to be banker material.... I wouldn't like to base my punting on that kind of coincedence, but it is interesting!

Geraghty

I was probably a bit lucky to win the novice hurdle on*COUNTISTER. I didn’t think that I had*Ainchea*when he fell at the last. It might have been a good race between us, but I thought that we were going to struggle to get on terms.

I’d say that*Ainchea is not a bad horse though, and my mare ran a good race. That was only her third run over hurdles, and there should be more races for her.

I backed Countister for this before the weekend, she ran a good race and yes was probably being held, hopefully it only being her third run here Henderson will get a bit more improvement from her and she will go with a fighting chance

I'm extremely confident, as per my previous posts, about Laurina.

I must admit, with the word about Salsaretta (typical Ricci horse) I hadn't actually considered any others, but given the amount of time it was taking Salsaretta to make an appearance, one of which we are still waiting for, I started to watch back the replays of the other contenders and stumbled upon Laurina's debut win, which was enough for me to start getting excited, enough so that I began placing bets with her at the forefront of, so luckily for me, I managed to get some of the better prices, mostly in multiples and mostly with Stormy Ireland in as well, before she went and won her last race pretty damn convincingly.

I then backed her again, at shorter odds, but I'm way too confident about her really for a horse I've only seen her race twice, but I do believe she'll win easily come the festival still!

She will definitely be one of my most backed horses by the time we get to the festival, I already have a few more bets lined up for her.

It seems there is a problem with Maria's Benefit. Whenever that happens to one of mine I usually expect the worst. The fully fit version had it all on to beat Laurina.

Having a scan and x-ray today I believe.

Drift on the exchange will be people assuming the worst, but even if it is slight, any injury at this stage would only have negative affects, given we are only 5 weeks away now!
