That Minella melody bet is really, really good. The sort that if you weren’t disciplined you could easily pile into. She’s had one bad run in her career, admittedly it was at last years festival, but she was one of the best of last years crop of novice mares and this season she’s finished second to beacon edge & concertista who’s even money fav here twice.

probably beaten easier than the bare winning distance would suggest against both of those, but in her last race she’s given the rest of the field weight & a comfortable beating. She could easily be the best of the rest of the Irish mares. Her price of 28/1 looks totally based on her being well held by concertista twice, and that big price has filtered down into the without concertista market. It’s not a strong field and you could be getting paid for her finishing 5th!

I think Minella Melody has been overlooked, done a bet without favourites and you can still get 10/1. I know its come 2nd to Concertista but it was giving weight to My sister sarah and Black tears and finished infront of them last time out. I just don't understand why this horse is 10/1 W/O fav's and thats even inclduing without Rosksana.

10/1 for Minella Melody without Concertista and Roksana is very, very interesting.

She finished ahead of Black Tears giving her 6lbs.

She's twice been second to Concertista, but in this market, is that not a massive price?



Dame De Compagnie and Indefatigable have won Cheltenham handicaps which is great, but they were still handicaps and neither have had a GREAT season in terms of prep?

She's also finished ahead of My Sister Sarah giving her weight before.



Only out of the first 3 once, which annoyingly for the 'case' was at Cheltenham for the Mares Novice Hurdle. She was 11/4f for the race, and it'd be a question mark, but 10/1 without the top 2 is a big price isn't it?

A noticeable shift, does look like a correction based on how sharp that was. Levels off and down to 2.4

Final thoughts:

The 3 trend horses are Concertista, Roksana and Minella Melody with Concertista having no blanks.
She seems to have the beating of Minella Melody. Roksana has won this race but has been trying 3m this season.

Value: Minella Melody

Actually Concertista seems more sure than Honeysuckle. Is this today's big surprise? Can't see her losing though.

It'll be an interesting one come Wednesday, both BT and GWS have shown their best form in big fields, now with 3 or 4 runners they don't have much choice :boxing:

As i said earlier in the thread i quite like the idea of Black Tears e/w here or preferably w/o Concertista. Tempted to just take her at 33s now as i presume she'll be cut a little if she wins Wednesday, or at leat the 33s won't exist.

Not sure what the tactics were on MM. Completely different to how they run her every other race. Wouldn't have got close most likely but always frustrating when they change tactics in the big one.
