Mares Chase 2021

I maintain, Salsaretta has been the worst favourite for an ante post race that I've seen.

Laughable that this is even a race, what a bad, bad race.

Salsaretta very disappointing there. I'm really keen on BDD for this race and this looks more likely now. Has anyone heard anything about her well being?

Definitely. I'd be thrilled, had I not had 5 points on Salsaretta in a double with Ginto for this afternoon :boxing:

Just when you thought things couldn’t get any worse!!! I’m putting myself in betting jail for a week after today’s ante post punting, I’ve seen care home workers move quicker than Salsarreta there!!

The worry for me is that Benie will turn up again in the Galmoy Hurdle

which would make coming here a big doubt
 
Townend gave a strange ride.
and her head was tilted, I wonder if something around her gob was bothering her.
 
Willie Mullins surely won't rely on Colreevy to win the inaugral Mares Chase that he's wanted for years?

Leaving to late for Elfile, can't imagine him sending a novice chaser with less than 2 runs?

It's worth watching entries for her very closely. I'm thinking she might go for the race at Naas that she won in 2018. You'd like to see a run over fences before the festival. She's such a good jumper and this race looks made for her. The double with Concertista in Mares hurdle is a nice related bet.
 
With Benie i can see her now just going to the mares hurdle with Townend on as Jacob will be back on Concertista won’t he? Two decent darts against Honeysuckle might he Willie’s way to go with that race.

Ditto re Dame De Compagnie who holds early closer entries at Cheltenham for the CH, Mares Hdle, Stayers Hdle and Mares Chase but no hint yet of a jumps debut.

At least BDD has Chase experience but maybe WM is happy with Colreevy, she won OK LTO and looked as though she would improve for the run.

What else is there for this ? Might Robin De Carlow sneak back into the picture depending on how recovering from injury ?

Colreevy just won a grade one so thats not ideal.

That'd still be the most likely outcome I think.... but today certainly did no harm to the BDD over fences campaigners :cheerful:

If she runs the only horse I can see getting anywhere near BDD is PTKO

I think PTKO should run here but given the owners went for glory and went to the arkle last year id say shes not going to

This race is woeful. Despite being in what would be a wonderful spot if BDD does turn up here, what a crock of shit. Nobody can tell me than Benie Des Dieux or Put The Kettle On wouldn't add more to their respective Championship races.

If Benie had to go for the Stayers, and PTKO had to go for the QMCC, both races are loads, loads, loads more exciting.

The "best case" scenario for this race, is those two clash, which they are so unlikely to do, and even that only brings it up to being as important as a Mares Hurdle, which who gives a fuck about too.


Get Concertista in the Champion Hurdle, get Honeysuckle in the Champion Hurdle or Stayers Hurdle.


You could tell your friends to watch it then, as they'd be proper, proper races. No egg and spoon shit.
