Latest going report Cheltenham

Oh it has. I’m here now and it’s pissing it down

I read earlier about 6mm today and another 3mm on Sunday, which is about exactly what they need to
maintain current good to soft, but the warm conditions next week might force them to water the New Course if the rain next Wednesday doesn’t materialise…

Really good news this rain today. Keeps it nice and g/s, just enough to do so, but yes, I'd say looking at the forecast it looks very likely they'll have to water once the racing has started. This year we've been blessed with no real ground worries. Makes up with all the uncertainties with the Mullins runners.

The rain yesterday was perfect. None of us want watered ground. They'll not have to get the hose pipe out now. Phew.

Havnt they watered the new course hence why that’s soft and the rest isn’t?

That would be my understanding. Guess it's got two more days to dry than the old before it's run on so makes sense to water now

Wouldn't have thought so

I was wrong. Clerk just confirmed on TV that they watered New Course yesterday.:eagerness:

Worked out well for them.
No irrigation to Old Course means they'll run on beautiful ground.
A drop on Wednesday will help maintain good to soft on the New Course.
Bring it on...

Fair amount of rain in the forecast on Wednesday afternoon.

The grounds going to be proper quick tomorrow. Fresh ground. Dry winter. They’re going to ping off it!!!

Im seriously considering holding back on any more bets until their lined to go off, think we’ll be seeing a lot of runners that are up or near the front, especially on the l old course

Good ground out there, so presumably will water overnight? Good to soft in the morning?
