Didn't stay. Took a big blow. Moving away from Grade 1's. Definitely won't go 3m again. Drop back in trip , lesser company. Pretty damning report.

No. He travelled ok then just emptied. Maybe feeling the ground as well but we'll not see him anywhere near 3m again. His next run will tell us a lot and whether he's still up to it. Perhaps those quick fire grade 1's against top horses last season bottomed him ?

….notice Hills are still allowing multiples across their a/r categories, I’d be sure they’ve normally stopped that by this stage.

I edited my post about the Arkle, as yes originally I thought he should go Arkle and then changed my mind I think after the weird race with Kargese?
To be honest he had me a tad confused all season as to trip.
Don’t really matter now as looks like he will probably be going mid trip in lesser company.

Are those just your thoughts as I haven't seen anything from Elliott? The run just seemed too bad to be true, even if it was the issue. That's 2 really bad runs now so really hard to have any confidence in Romeo going forward, at any trip imo. It's so disappointing as I was really hoping he could be top class after his first few runs last season.
 
Am slightly surprised I was able to Cash Out all (3) my Romeo Coolio/King George/Festival acca bets and get my stakes back. Took my money back very quickly. We live to fight another day. Unless they find something wrong with him after yesterday I don't think he will be going anywhere near 3 mile races again.

Gordon's after the race. JK seemed quite pleased until 2 out.
 
Wonder if they would fancy a crack at the King George for Wendigo after doing that over 2m 3f

It's a bit of a free hit in a big race that can throw up anything. If they win, they win a Grade 1. Lose and they could still head for the National.
