It was a (nice) surprise to see that William Hill left Gaelic Warrior at 4/1 after yesterday's race.

What is there in the way of potential new challengers? Final Demand, Kitzbuhel, Soldier In Milan, Lulamba??

If he turns up in the same form, he's going to take beating

The only real danger i can see is him not coming back the same horse after these two huge runs

Yeah, agreed. His last two wins have looked effortless but they could have left a mark. He currently looks in a different league to everything else.

Does anyone know, or heard anything, about Jade De Grugy for next season. Is she staying over hurdles or going Chasing ? In the last 3 years she has bumped in to Golden Ace (4th), Lossiemouth (2nd) and Wodhooh (2nd) at the Festival so she's due a break. Assuming she can jump a fence if she was mine I'd go Chasing with her next year.

Possibly but I'd much prefer the Irish National winner tbh.
There haven't been many more impressive winners that's for sure but the fact the handicap was a long range target might suggest they don't see him as a top table chaser ?
3 beginners chases, a G3 then the Irish National, no hint of a decent novice event in there, even the G3 event where he was 4th the three ahead of him were 130-140 horses, obviously he was being prepped for Fairyhouse but still he's swerved every half decent race all season.
Like everything I could well be proved to be way wrong but he's going into open company having basically seen trees and handicappers, he has a hell of a long way to go before I can take him seriously for any top graded race let alone a Gold Cup...

Totally forgot about that. Thanks for the reminder. So slightly different question. Why did she revert to hurdles after Chasing earlier in the season and winning her last Chase by 18 lengths ? Cheltenham Festival 2027 - Jade De Grugy Mares Hurdle or Mares Chase ?
