Anyone know what time Hills go NRNB?

I see they have added all the races but yet to go NRNB
Found a tweet promoting it last year and NRNB was active from 12:00 on the 1st. Had no idea they'd changed the name of the race on Boxing Day though so I wonder if they're still doing it today. Hope so!

Just took Moneygarrow at 33/1 for the pipe before NRMB whilst I was in there. Happy to take the chance with that one. Will have to have a good luck when I get home. Starbucks is calling now though :D
But the horses name doesn’t start with K 🤔

All I would like to clarify I was asking if anyone had heard anything similar with regards to his injury. I'm not claiming it's a credible source but thought it was an interesting reason to give Lulamba as the banker.

Personally I won't be cashing anything.

He also gave Califet En Vol as the tip of the day for today.

I could see Nicholls trying to get Regents a mark and be Caldwell Potter 2.0

I backed Califet today, only because Regent had just a easy ride last time out (thanks to Nico on the only other horse in the race). Regent isnt going to get it nice and quiet ride today, one of the others could light him up again and its a long way up the hill today

So went with Califet, he'll need to improve but at least he has some CD here already

I guess Kopek is alive and fighting fit then.............:)

Noticed PIED PIPER now on chase mark of 144.
Gordon ran him in his favoured NH Chase early season sighter at Cheltenham (Saxon Warrior race planning - thanks) and mark now OK for the race.
Although he might run him one more time as he might get a pound or 2 tax.
Not priced up yet but have messaged Hills.

Chatting shite I'd say.

Was due to run over Christmas but missed that due to an issue but is expected to be back for DRF last I heard.

Just seen the owner has tweeted a happy new year message about dreaming of the Arkle in 2026 FFS. Be really odd behaviour if he is as out.
Don’t think I will cash out then!

I have succumbed to peer pressure and covered Saint Baco - Supreme and Sortudo - Turners.

Two fold reasoning, Other than Fou De Toi, nothing else is likely to come out now for Willie (not interested in The Reverand) and nothing else has impressed first time out. I wasn't over the moon with Saint Baco but he did at least win.

Sortudo looks as though the mid trip might be his trip and he was one i was interested in. I would have had him backed for the Bartlett already but Dineen waded in and crashed his price before i could. Looking at the betting for the Lawlors though, this could play into my hands. I have backed Classical Creek for the Bartlett even though Gordon says 2 and a half miles is his trip so a nice Sortudo win here could send CC down to the Bartlett.

Guarantee the exact opposite of everything i just said, happens :D

Free Spirit isn’t a maiden and needs to make his Irish racecourse debut. If he’s well, I imagine that would be in the Moscow Flyer.

Wouldn't be too many left to come from the FR sphere that's for sure

Koliath de Couely
Free Spirit
Roc Dino
Livio

Probably missed something no doubt

I have seen his name mentioned a few times. What's the consensus, are there good reports? I hadn't heard of him and then went through the form and it's pretty shocking from the race he ran in. He comes from the right connections though and could have been undercooked for the race but it's pretty gash when you go through the horses he ran against.

Never know with French things. Many superstars have finished 3rd to no-marks. Mark Howard gave him a good write up though and I’ve heard elsewhere that Closutton think he’s a sharper type.

The other I’ve got my eye on is Mighty Park from the P2P sphere. NR due to colic at Leopardstown. I cashed out and am waiting for a health update or entry before going on again. He’s very well thought of though.

Mighty Park was right up towards the top of the bumper horses i had down so was very surprised to see him straight over obstacles. I would say that indicates he is at minimum, smart. I couldn't get on with any bookie when he was entered in a hurdle which could have been a blessing for me as he could have entered the available market around 6/1 before i had the chance. Colic is obviously the worst of the worst for a horse bar a leg break so regardless of the severity of it, i would think he would be put away for the rest of the season now and just looked after.

Yeah, be interesting to see if Free Spirit makes an appearance. He isn't compromised by the owners having multiple chances in the race being with the Turley's at least so his target should be straight forward if good enough. The other horses Darlo mentioned i had already checked out and i was of the same opinion with them just at first glance. There is that uncertainty of how much they will improve but they are in the right place to do so.

….notice in previous years discussions regarding entries starts around this time but I’ve not seen any schedule of dates.

Might be worth keeping an eye out, always a useful thread to start once that detail is known.

HRI has a note reminding trainers that entries for Gold Cup, QMCC, and Ryanair close this Monday at 12.00.

  1. Festival Handicap Qualification
Replicating the approach in 2025, the number of qualifying runs required to compete in non-Novice or Juvenile handicaps at the Cheltenham Festival in 2026 will be higher than the General Rule covering Class 1 handicaps, which requires 4 runs over hurdles for novices to run in handicap hurdles and 3 runs over fences for novices to run in handicap steeple chases.

For the Cheltenham Festival only, the requirements are:

  • for a minimum of 5 runs over hurdles for any horse (novice or non-novice) to run in non-novice handicap hurdles
  • a minimum of 4 runs over fences for any horse (novice or non-novice) to run in non-novice handicap chases.
This will be reflected in the race conditions for Class 1 non-Novice or Juvenile Handicaps at the Cheltenham Festival.

The Novices' and Juvenile handicaps will continue to be three runs as per the regular handicapping rules and reflected in the race conditions.

This is all that is new on racing admin @Yosser, looks the same as last year so just a reminder I reckon.
I'll see if I can dig up the dates for entries for this year, I'll have a coffee first though..
