General Chat

Before the DRF and with around 5 weeks to go before Cheltenham, then looking at the supposed ‘good things’ below (from a pricing perspective) then how many do we think will win out of the eight?

My initial view/guess, is only about half…..….so if this could be the case, then maybe there is still value in these markets?……just got to predict which ones !

Sir Gino
BDA
Cons Hill
The New Lion
Jonbon
Teahupoo
GDC
Lulamba

If they had a market on that group I go for 3 which I suppose would be a decent return.

Another thing Racing Post have put behind a paywall now.

You can only see a certain amount of form before needing to be subscribed

Those fuckers must be desperate .

Depends on which 3, but I think you’d be in the poor house if only getting 3 of these winning…….if backing all eight at level stakes !

It's not actually behind the paywall.

It’s a huge surprise looking at all the so called good things that only one is trained by Willie

You're right, going down the Sporting Life route of everything behind an account.

You'd wonder if the business plan is to get everyone signed up to accounts and then to consequently bring in a charge for the information.

Oh I bet that is absolutely the case and plan here.

At least Racing Post's account isn't linked with Slybet.

An RTJ reference too you are spoiling us

It's all a joke between mom's contractions and coffin fittin's, so we disappear in the smoke like we're fuckin' magicians

Depends when you backed them. Be very lucky for more than 3/4 to win I'd say. Very rare for all the Bankers to oblige. The bookies will get them beat.

I honestly hope any trainer apart of the PRA wanting to be paid for interviews doesn't get anything

I'd not interview any of them for the foreseeable regardless of how it turns out, I will say if they didn't do the interviews before & after races maybe we'd get to see the horses in the parade ring, going to post, no fluff, no backslapping faux frienships "Isn't everyone fucking marvellous" nonsense, just the horses, I'd be quite happy with as little human interaction as possible as they don't give nothing of real interest away anyhow, no trainer is ever giving you a good steer on tv, if anyone believes they are I've some magic beans for sale.

Just seen the racing post have moved to an account based system to access most of the Web features. I already had one due to previously being a paid member, however this is just another data grab to then sell for those who used to view freely.

Sportinglife or attheraces are much better in comparison for their accounts based services. (free replays mainly)

The racing post would be better off cutting their overhead and getting rid of a few hacks. How many people need to write about the decline of horse racing on a daily basis? Farcical.
