Away from all the which horse is going where continuous stories, I see that the Paddy power advert from a few years back is being aired again. The one where Peter Cruch and others are facing off against Colm Meaney.

Has anyone noticed that after the first year it was shown, 2023 I think, Jane Mangan who is directly to the left of Colm Meaney on the Irish Side, took up the gig as a William Hill ‘ambassador’ (a word that always makes me chuckle, they’re not diplomats) so presumably she was edged out, via some digital surgery, as she was employed by a direct competitor, her face superimposed now by another woman, though it is still Jane’s body.

What we see now is an edited version of the original that has Mangan clipped out as well as other dialogue also removed because that shows Mangan close up.

It is rare to see a brand go to such lengths to "airbrush" someone, but it highlights just how protective betting companies are of their exclusive talent deals.

is it me or is this place really quiet for the Thursday before the festival?

think everyone's just about burnt out with the circus to be honest. Having about 20 different weekly shows pumping it none stop and preview nights going on from the middle of Feb doesn't help too.

Can't really tell I've essentially been awol for a year 🫣

I'm finding it didn't take me that long to catch up - usually by the time we get this close I'm just watching previews for the sake of it, and even with missing so much this year they're all the same stuff already

This year "where will X run" looks to have been one of the worst years for it .... whichever way things end up swinging, that's always going to take away some of the fun in discussing races

Yeah true. I also feel like we've lost some prominent voices on here (to be expected with time, but also restrictions and ante post pricing ) and racing is becoming more niche so we're not getting new people come through as much.

OR I've been really ill this week, and using my time to consume tons of Cheltenham media and wanted this place hopping lol

Might just be me but iv had enough of mullins bingo and am just waiting till final decs to raise my interest
Yep, always far more interesting discussing the races and how they might be run and this is only really possible when we know more shit.
Has been tricky this year with the race targets. Although not so much the novice chases.
Fuck the turners, get that to trials day also.

Quiet tonight. No live streams it appears.
Picked out a 50/1 imperial Cup selection bubble dubi!

Quick question that I’m sure someone will know the answer to - when will the Irish Tuesday horses travel over?

Gordon's usually tend to go tomorrow from memory, arriving Sunday morning. His X feed normally has a video of the first batch moving out of his base in Meath. Quite the fanfare. Haven't seen it yet. No doubt the video will be up sometime tomorrow

Cool, thanks.

Sure I remember reading that Mullins split his into Tues/Wed and Thurs/Fri. Just need someone to keep an eye out for Lossie on the first shipment!

Wonder what you do for a horse like Secret Force. Unlikely to get in - would it need to be travelling before Sunday decs?

Loving that theory

Decent novice hurdle today, but shame about the ground. Likely the usual Sandown slog. Backed Kaka's Cousin and Tennessee Twist. I think Kaka's Cousin is quite promising, and he should make a decent novice chaser next season, although you can never be sure with this yard. Kealy probably wrecked today's price. Tennessee Twist also has plenty of scope for chasing. After a good bumper start, he has been relatively disappointing over hurdles, and I fear that he might struggle to see it out under today's conditions. Despite the price reduction Bet365 not even offering a cash out profit.

Can anyone see a price for Nicky Henderson to have 0 winners at the festival ?
