Triumph - Hard to call. I don't like Apples Shakira who Nicky may be realising is just the best of a fairly modest lot at Seven Barrows. I just get the feeling that Mr Adjudicator is ahead of Stormy Ireland.
County - Bunk Off Early was close to Bacardys in last season's Deloitte. Bacardys is rated 151 and BOE gets in here off 143.
Albert Bartlett - No strong opinion but Santini looks a decent sort.
Gold Cup - Only Might Bite and Road To Respect fit the trends properly with (slow old boat :devilish:) Our Duke just missing out. Can't have a Scorpion at those prices.
Foxhunter - over-hyped and coming over here, Burning Ambition may struggle to get up the hill this year and Wonderful Charm is a much more attractive proposition.
Grand Annual - had a good word for Tommy Silver in a race where I can't remember backing the winner.

Triumph- Apples Shakira
County-Flying Tiger
AB- Santini
GC- Mite Bite
MP- Dortmund Park
Foxhunters- Wonderful Charm
GA- Theinval

D-day for the yankees is getting ever closer. More and more I'm feeling inclined to focus on the non-handicaps for Friday as I feel the handicaps divide opinion so much and I would like to create a bet that as many of you lot as possible feel you can buy into.

However, the one exception I might make is Diego Du Charmil in the Grand Annual. The reason for this is that the first ever thread I created on this forum was on 20th December last year to champion this horse for this race. I think that would make his inclusion very ‘fitting’ considering that the reason I was picked to be one of the yankee owners was because I’m a relative newbie. I realise this might not be the most popular inclusion in a race that some wouldn’t touch and I welcome any comments.

On the other races – Cracking Smart was fairly likely to be one of my picks until his unfortunate setback. I’m now swaying towards the Chef Des Obeaux camp but I’d possibly be concerned at how dry the ground might be by Friday. Obviously this is anyone’s guess.

I'll continue to give it some thought over the coming days and comments on all races are invited in the meantime!

Does diego run?
Dolos and Tommy silver do. (Not putting them up)

Well that solves that particular problem then! That's disappointing news that had passed me by, but cheers Scooby and Rob. I'm amazed as I think he's on a lovely mark and the race would suit down to the ground.

Cracking Smart and Sizing John were very high up the pecking order for this yankee - and with Diego Du Charmil apparently an unlikely runner too I've very much had to shake up my thought process on this.

And then there's the added complication of the ground... come Sunday when these picks are submitted it will be much easier to predict Tuesday's ground than Friday's!

At this stage I'm questioning everything I thought I knew.

It's a tough one. The main one is proving equally tricky for the same reasons!

Theinval & Diego Du Charmil need good ground so despite the support for both I suggest we avoid these

Thanks for all your input folks! Decisions made...

Stormy Ireland
Chef Des Obeaux
Killultagh Vic
Burning Ambition
